I am going to the beach in three weeks and would like to have a nice (not very dark) base tan so I don't burn on the first day there or look all pale and flabby in my bikini.
I am pretty pale and I burn easily. How often should I go to the tanning bed over the next three weeks, and for how many minutes each time? I really don't want to get orange.

To answer one of the questions- no, I don't think that tanning makes me look less flabby. I'd just rather be flabby and tan than flabby and pale!

First of all the good tanning beds don't make you orange...they make you tan. The first time you go, go for 3 minutes then the next time go for the same amount of time. Then go 2 minutes up and go for that time 1 more day. Raise it up by 2 minutes every time you finish those 2 days but then when you get to 17 minutes STOP! It might burn you so just keep going for 17 minutes. And don't go every day though GO EVERY OTHER DAY!!!! So...

Day 1(July 9)- is 3mins
1 day later
Day 2(July 11)- is 3mins
1 day later
Day 3(July 13)- is 5mins
1 day later
Day 4(July 15)- is 7mins
1 day later
Day 5(July 17)- is 9 mins
ECT.....

i would go at least 2 times the first week, at short periods of time. if it is a 15 min max bed, for 7 or 8 mins. give yourself a day, and if you arn't too burned, wait one day,a nd go the next, ie if you go monday, go wen. as well. the next week, iw ould go 3-4 times, at a little bit longer time period, then the 3rd week, i woudl try to go up untill the day before i leave for the beach.

i am pale, and burn rather than tan, but going to the tanning bed at short intervals really helps me get a bit of a glow before summer or vacation. Good luck.
