if you had a really strong connection with someone, like when you both know exactly how the other feels without ever having to say it, but you haven't seen or heard from each other in like a year, is there a way to communicate mentaly with that person?

Yes. My friend James and I do it all the time.

I actually have a great example of us being able to communicate things to each other telepathically. When I was living in Oklahoma, and he was in Washington State, one time I called him. Even though he didn't know my phone number, and he didn't have caller ID, he picked up the phone on the first ring, and answered it, "Hey, woman." (His nickname for me. Mine for him is "punk." Don't ask.)
So we were talking like we always do (no one can keep up with our conversations except us. My husband tried and failed, because James and I speak...abstract. We never talk about concrete things. We have no need to.), and suddenly he asked me what I was wearing. It's always been a joke between us, don't ask. Anyway, so I told him to tell me. Well, he did. Down to my underclothes. And I was wearing clothes he had never seen.

There have also been times that he's known exactly what was going on with me ("Hey James, guess what." "You and Chris broke up, and you're living with your new boyfriend." "ACH!"), and I've known what was going on with him ("Hey woman, guess what." "Your girlfriend's pregnant, and you guys are engaged. Oh, and you pierced your eyebrows. Twice.").

How do we do it? We just do. If you have a strong enough connection with someone, you don't even have to think about it.

James and I don't have to think about it at all. We've just always been like that.

Of course there is. I met one of my best friends when I was on an internship in California four years ago. I live in Michigan, he lives on the West coast, and we haven't seen each other since I was over there for just a summer, but it's quite possible that he knows me better than anyone else. We talk online/on the phone on almost a daily basis.

Also, I hardly ever see my best friend from back in my high school days, but we never have any problem picking things up where we left off, even after years. I think there's certain people who you just always click with. I like the term "kindred spirits."

What an odd question. But even stranger is this answer.......I have just had this happen to me yesterday. I distinctly felt a connection with someone a year ago and it was broken as we stopped encourageing eachother's feelings, since we knew it couldn't go anywhere. But yesterday I felt it again, very strongly. For him it would've been around 6:30-6:45pm.
If this really happened, and you are him, you'll know exactly what I mean, and who I am. If not, please don't contact me.

Telepathy is completely unproven, I'm sorry to say. Many people feel like they have experienced it, but these instances have survived a detailed scrutiny. There has never been a peer reviewed scientifically documented case of telepathic communication.

Yes telepathic thought is not unusual between people who are close. If you want to communicate with this person, sit down and get your mind quiet and centered and then, send them a mental message. Concentrate and do it from time to time throughout the day...watch them call you...

There is a constant telepathic communication between all living things...cut a limb off of a tree, and when the cells, "die", every cell in the world knows it.

Yes. Just tell them what you want to tell them. Of course you are doing this with your mind if you can't contact them any other way. Yes it does work but they have to be open to actually get the message.

Yes, but it takes a lot of energy to do so. Why not just pick up the phone?
