Considering the Sumerian creation story is the "grandfather" of all religion, then it's a better bet than most.

Not to mention far more fascinating from a mythological standpoint.....

But an atheist I remain.

I believe that the Sumerian creation story like the different flood stories found around this world are corruptions of the truth as it was known by Noah and his sons that have entered into various human cultures as time has passed and stories have changed because people did not stay connected to the true God of Heaven but fell into the worship of idols which are really demonic deceptions designed to keep people from God.

1 Corinthians 10:19 What do I imply then? That food offered to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything? 20 No, I imply that what pagans sacrifice they offer to demons and not to God. I do not want you to be participants with demons.

Creation means to produce something out of nothing. Sumarian, or otherwise, there's no such thing.

No, I don't think that a God (as a the creature of all existance and the controller of it) needs to mate or reproduce, it's just not logical!
