I think you're much better off installing a purifier to your kitchen sink and getting your water that way. On the other hand, if you're running around town or on a road trip, it's better to get bottled water from the convenience store than soda or coffee.

I personally think it is a huge waste of money but I cant get my wife and daughter off of it. We have a 5 gallon water cooler but they still buy the small bottles and then refill them out of the cooler.
Buying the small bottles can cost much more than gasoline per gallon. I would only go along with bottled water if in a foreign country where I may get sick drinking the local stuff.( didn't matter in Mexico . Left Chicago at 20 degrees and got to Mexico in 80 degree weather. Celebrated by eating watermelon. Glad we had two johns in our room.)

the influential restauranteur Alice Waters - who started the whole revival of wholesome, locally grown food some 35 years ago - recently stopped serving bottled water at her restaurant. To her it is in fact one big waste - a waste of energy & resources to bottle and cart water around the world. Think about what a wasteful thing putting water in a bottle in Italy and then using all that fuel to move it to the USA and deliver it to us. Time to end it.

Unless your tap water taste terrible, I say bottle water is a waste of money and the plastic bottle just contaminates our dumps. I personally drink only tap water, If I go out I just fill my bottle up and go. So I am re-using the bottle over and over.

I think bottled water has gone way too far.. One way that it could go away is if people would stop buying it. the consumers have created this craze and society has probably put enough fear into people that they stop drinking tap water. But make the demand go away, and it won't go further.

I view it as a convenience item, easy to take on the go. Mostly I don't drink it and think it is a waste unless you live somewhere where the available water is over hard or has bad minerals.

I live in the city and I detest the water where I live because if you let it sit too long, rust builds up and it gets red in your cup- the brita things don't help much either so me and my husband buy bottled water.

It's more convient you are driving or traveling, and if you dislike your tap water it's also nice. If your talking about how they say all the bottles harm the envirnrment you can recycle them.
