My friends are getting married in 2 weeks and I still don't know what to get them. They have lived together for 2 years, in there 50's and have everything. They do live on a lake and love the water ( I thought about a gas card for the boats but don't know if that's tacky). Thanks for any ideas you can give me.

I think a picnic basket with a nautical theme would be nice. Some wine glasses, maybe a bottle of wine or champagne, a corkscrew, nautical napkins, tablecloth, plates, and silverware or hard plasticware. Maybe a smaller gas card or a gift card to a local deli or restaurant near the lake. Note on the card that it is for their romantic lake or boat trips.

I think the gas card would be a great idea as long as you come up with some kind of a cute message to put in the card so that they know you meant it for the boat. If not they might be confused by it.

I think the gas card is a lovely idea and write something cute in the card like . take a tour on your boat and this should help . something along those lines . good luck and enjoy the wedding .

i would go more with a gift card to a restaurant. i would feel odd about a gas card myself. a gift card to a restaurant seems more romantic to me.

What about a fire extinguisher (not water-based) to take on a boat or a subscription to a magazine or rescue service?

Money is really the best gift we can get....seriously. If you don't want to give them money don't they have a wedding gift registry?
