Thats tricky...because if there are churches that dont ''condemn'' gay people and supposedly welcome them with open arms, they still do see you as leading a sinful life and in need of ''help'' to change your sexual orientation(they dont believe gay people have no control over their sexual preferences).SO they can never accept you as you are.As one of the answerers said above:''church is like a hospital for sinners'' and by actually believing that, does that not seem like taking the high moral ground?
I think the two can never truly be compatible. You can have your own beliefs but outside an organised religion.

it truly is controversial. There are sects in each and every faith that think of that's ok. as an occasion, in some Hindu perspectives that's suitable and in others it truly is not. in the Episcopal church they have gay clergy, yet on your community Baptist church you will get condemned. the main accepting faith is in all possibility Reformed Judaism in homosexuality or you are able to constantly bypass to a pagan team. additionally unorganized religions are your acquaintances

Forget fundamentalists that seem overly obsessed with the sex lives of others. There are many churches that are more accepting and that teach that God loves you regardless.
Try Unity Church, or Unitarian, or some Episcopal and Catholic churches are more accepting than others.
Or just don't go to church. I don't think God goes to church
anymore either, so you'll still be close to Him.
I recommend the books: Conversations with God, by Neale Donald Walsch. They're great!

A gay person needs to be adept at ignoring religion's condemnation of homosexuality. He needs to practice his religion selectively. After all, why would a religion's prohibition against homosexuality make any difference to somebody who has ignored the taboo to begin with?

Do whatever you think is right. If it's Christianity you are talking about, there are more homosexuals within the church than you realize. A church is supposed to be a "hospital for sinners". Sometimes the self-righteous forget that.
