The 7/15/60 WT page 444 says that the "faithful and discreet slave" was guided by Jehovah's "unerring" spirit which enabled them to make known who would win WWII, and the events "enerringly" took place 3 years later. Also, in 1958 they had "amazing advance information" about Daniel’s prophecy in the book “Your Will Be Done on Earth" because "Once again" the slave has been"tipped off ahead of time".
If the WT isn't a prophet, how can they have "unerring" information in "advance" from the Holy Spirit? Isn't it true that they only deny having "advance" information whenever someone points out their prophetic failures, as in Zechariah 13:3-5 - the prophet will become ashamed (because he spoke falsehood) and say "I am not a prophet"?

If anyone wants to say that it's in the Bible, please quote us the Scripture that says who would be the winner of WWII, and explain why you would need to be "tipped off" by the Spirit if it was humanly possible to figure it out yourself through "sincere Bible research".

How could you not find it? I gave you the page number.
Let me be more specific. It's in the Article "Staying Awake with the Faithful and Discreet Slave" and it's in paragraph 19.
Look again... that is, IF you're telling the truth and you actually didn't find it the first time.

For all you folk who cannot find (or obtain) the actual Watchtower magazine in question, here is paragraph 19, word for word. I have the 1960 bound volume in front of me:
"Yes, the "faithful and discreet slave" was awake to the coming of 1914. In 1942 the "faithful and discreet slave" guided by Jehovah's unerring spirit made known that the democracies would win World War II and that there would be a United Nations organization set up. [Asterisk to footnote saying The booklet Peace - can it last? 1942, pp.21,22] Such a wakefulness was concerning events that unerringly took place three years later. At the 1958 Divine Will International Assembly amazing advance information in connection with Daniel's prophecy was given about events to occur in the immediate future. Such evidence of spiritual foresight is recorded for us in the book "Your Will Be Done on Earth." Once again the "faithful and discreet slave" has been tipped off ahead of time for the guidance of all lovers of God. Surely one's present security depends on his staying awake with the "faithful and discreet slave"."
So there it is in black and white, just as the Asker claimed. The answer to his Q is that the Watch Tower Bible & Tract Society (or any of its other legal corporations) which published that article to millions of JWs and had them study it at the Watchtower Study on Sundays, answering printed questions by repeating (more or more) from the paragraphs, believed then (as it does now) that its Governing Body is the "faithful and discreet slave", approved by God and guided by him through holy spirit. The second Q is answered by a simple "No, they are not God's prophet because their information errs and keeps getting changed or denied.

Jehovah's Witnesses largely follow the teachings begun during the second presidency of the Watchtower, when Joseph F. Rutherford took over in a corporate flap and began changing doctrines quickly in the Watchtower belief system. He claimed that angels directly conveyed truth to some of those in leadership.
That's right ANGELS read demonic inspiration
Jehovah's Witnesses have predicted the end of the world many times when they deny they lie.

"The holy spirit is what moves a godly person to study the Scriptures, and see what is likely missed by insincere apostates, mere academics and ungodly cynics." - achtung heiss
that was such a non-answer.
I've heard this type of non-answer more than once when a JW is offered references from their own publications to refute a "truth." They then claim because they're "the truth," they don't have to answer cynics and academics. However, they don't hesitate to answer cynics and academics when they have something they feel they can refute. This is typical logic they use when a believer who is questioning comes to them in sincerity and asks the questions troubling their hearts. There is no love shown, just a do as I say, not as I do-type explanation and no desire to truly examine the questions.

Thank you! I just asked questions about them being false prophets..They deny that they ever said they were directed by God's Spirit when dates come and go that they say things are going to happen. I see more and more how they are not truthful ..I don't understand why they can't tell it like it is..
They are quick to say..We are the ONLY ones to have Gods Spirit..until one questions them about their past.
debbie2243>..Since the very start of that religion, JW's have been saying the end is near..the end is right around the corner..that is your MAIN focus of the entire Bible..True lovers of God and Jesus are not focused on the END..they continue to tell people about our Lord..about God..They worship him regardless of the rewards or the punishments.
Many JW's died waiting for the new system..waiting., because it is right around the corner...They put off medical treatments..They sold homes..Didn't save for the future..that is now here..They didn't get an education, because there is no need for that..the end is right around the corner..
Its time JW's woke up to the real truth..and to do that..you first need to use a Bible that is not twisted, to fit your beliefs.
You can't tell me that you can teach the same things that you believe with another Bible. You can tell me all you want that the KJV was used prior to the NWT.., They printed their own KJV from their printing presses..I would love to have one of those..I wonder if they changed the scriptures any..? Would be interesting to see..
The focus of the Bible is about Loving, Believing..Trusting God..
JW's really think that they are the only religion telling ones about Jesus and God? You are blind to reality if this is the case...

Thanks for pointing out that magazine. See quotations from it pertinent to your question under the sources section.
They claim to be the rejuvenated true Christian congregation, always in existence since Christ, but were obscured as wheat among weeds until the invisible return of 1914.
They claim that God and Jesus Christ are using them to "dispense spiritual food" to Christians "at the proper time."
They claim that this "food" is the "product of holy spirit." And... they do believe that they PROPHESY:
Watchtower, December 1, 1952:
10 It is upon the members of this faithful and discreet class, after they have repented of their failings and shortcomings during World War I, that God’s prophecy through Joel applies: “It shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy; your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions. Furthermore, upon the male and female slaves, in those days I will pour out my spirit.” The apostle Peter first applied this prophecy in his day, from Pentecost forward, and it has its final and complete application upon the remnant since the close of World War I in 1918.—Joel 2:28, 29, AT; Mo; Acts 2:16-18, NW; AT; Mo.

They are confused...when Satan speaks to them "disguised as an angel of light" they think it is the Holy Spirit....There is SO much evidence to their False prophecies that we have pointed out to them, that it is easy to label them Apostate. They have the proof that they are spreading a counterfeit gospel, but refuse to repent and ask God for forgiveness.....This is a dangerous position to be in spiritually and these souls need our prayer.

I could not find any of that in the article that was quoted.
As for the the meaning of "prophet", some of you are confused.
The word "prophet" literally means: ‘a speaker out’ and thus describes a PROCLAIMER, one who makes known messages attributed to a divine source. (Compare Titus 1:12.) THE FUNDAMENTAL MEANING OF "PROPHET" IS NOT THAT OF PREDICTION.
The WT IS a proclaimer that makes known messages and attributes them to God's Word...a divine source.
However, an INSPIRED prophet is VASTLY DIFFERENT than just a mere prophet. On the highest level, "prophet" would indicate an inspired prophet of God who through God's inspiration actually speaks words God has put in his mouth.
But on a lower level of meaning for the word, it can simply be someone who goes forth and speaks the word of God as he understands it from inspired scripture. The WT does not believe that inspired prophets are operable today nor do they claim to be one.

Well done!! Excellent Question!! Excellent Research!!!
This is certainly one that they can't look up a rehearsed response from their publications, and they can't answer it Biblically...notice the JW who did answer didn't quote anything from the Bible--no reference to scripture....hmmm
Where would they be without their beloved cult leader the WBTS???
BRAVO
Thumbs up on the question!!!
Thank you to GIR for the intellectual retort that called me stupid and saying that the JW's DID quote scripture. Please check the answers above me for actual scripture sited and note there ARE NONE!! Only links to their society website.

They are not answering you because they cant...I am a former Jehovah's Witness and I finally woke up and realized that EVERY "prediction" ever made has never happened and yet they pass it off as "new light" . They try so hard to keep you in their religion by scare tactics and disfellowshipping. Did you also know that they believe Jesus is Micheal the Archangel? They believe EVERYTHING the Watchtower tells them.

Here's one for you...this system will come to an end soon....the King of the North will overcome the King of the South.
The USA and UK have always been on the side of South and the Communist block have been on the side of the North.
But don't get too excited because Jehovah will step in and protect his people.
His people being the ones that call on and worship Jehovah God. These same ones are footstep followers of the Messianic King Jesus Christ.
They have put faith in Jesus ransom sacrifice and follow the lamb wherever he goes.
The bible is a book of prophecy and signs. God wants us to be informed. And he always warns his people so they can be awake and ready.
The end is coming and it won't be late.
