No! Insurance for kit-cars is a specialist market and premiums are substantially higher - other than for those who run kit-cars as low mileage weekend sunny day vehicles and who already have a normal car insurance policy to cover their first car.

do you mean Comprehensive insurance? meaning they'll pay you if you smash it up?
If you are after third party only then just get insured on a small car and add the kit car as a second car to use it only on sunny days, then if the tacho stops working you aren't guilty of anything and can use it on rainy days as well.

All that fibreglass it would cost more to repair. And if you insure it as a MR-2 and don't tell... wreck dammage to the body kit will be on you. Pay more now or latter

It'll cost you your self respect and whatever dignity you had left. How embarrassing would it be if someone wanted to take a look at the engine, and instead of a V8 or V12, there sits a 1.8L or 2.0L 4 cylinder....

No! Usually a lot higher because of the replacement parts being expensive - body shell etc
