Christ is the firstfruit of the resurrection, These graves that were also opened, were all those OT saints. I have always said that the 1st. resurrection comes in 3 stages, The one you mentione is stage one, stage 2 will be when the dead in Christ shall rise first, for the rapture, & stage 3 will be those foolish virgins that will give their life during the great tribulation. That completes the 1st resurrection. The 2nd resurrection will be only for the wicked, after the milliennium.

The text at Matthew 27:52, 53 concerning “the memorial tombs [that] were opened” as the result of an earthquake occurring at the time of Jesus’ death has caused considerable discussion, some holding that a resurrection occurred. However, a comparison with the texts concerning the resurrection makes clear that these verses do not describe a resurrection but merely a throwing of bodies out of their tombs, similar to incidents that have taken place in more recent times, as in Ecuador in 1949 and again in Bogotá, Colombia, in 1962, when 200 corpses in the cemetery were thrown out of their tombs by a violent earth tremor.—El Tiempo, Bogotá, Colombia, July 31, 1962.

This is a difficult question for those who believe the resurrection takes place at death, or the thief went to heaven with Jesus on Friday. Acts 2:34 says, even of King David: "For David is not ascended into the heavens."

But Sunday a.m. Jesus said to Mary "I have not yet ascended to my Father." The Father must accept Jesus' sacrifice and coronate Him as king of Earth as the second Adam. Jesus now has the right to call the saints forth from the grave, and they ascended to heaven with Jesus 40 days later.
Isaiah 26:19 "Thy dead [men] shall live, [together with] my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew [is as] the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead."

Because when Jesus was crucified, it was told that he would resurrect in three days. It was a Thursday in which he died, which is why Christians celebrate Good Friday, to remember his death the day after he died. Sunday was the day he rose from the dead because it was three days later, which gives us Easter Sunday, the day of his resurrection.

I believe this was when He was resurrected. I believe the souls of those who were in Paradise came out and went to Heaven.
