Be very Careful! The Northstar engine is very complex and hard to work on. I doubt some one can put 42,000 miles on a year with out changing oil every month. There must be 48 oil changes done at regular intervals on that engine or I would pass on such a high mileage car. Things that can really bite you is alternator and battery cable replacement $1,000 valve cover leakage engine oil leaks suspension wear and tear.

That puppy's been driven more than forty thousand miles a year. Might want to know what the owner's been doing with it for the last four years. Freeway miles aren't so bad but stop and go city miles? I'd walk away. Whatever you decide, run a carfax and take the car to a mechanic that you trust. You'll pay him a few bucks but it may save you plenty in the long run. I assume you've run the kelly blue book and inserted the actual mileage and equipment to get at a fair asking price.
