Yes, and I do live simply. I can't control anyone except myself. I'm perfectly happy as long as I've got a roof over my head, food enough to keep me from starving, and a nice, warm place to curl up with a good book.
And yes, it's conveniently forgotten by many, but I can't do anything about them.

Here's what the Bible (II Corinthians 8:9) says about that: "For we know the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ that, though HE WAS RICH, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might be rich."
Long ago I ceased to be amazed at lazy, slothful, non-productive people who blame their failures on hard working Christians.
SIMPLICITY is the property, condition, or quality of being simple or un-combined. It often denotes beauty, purity or clarity. Simple things are usually easier to explain and understand than complicated ones. Simplicity can mean freedom FROM hardship, effort or confusion. It may also refer to a simple living lifestyle. (Wikipedia)
Members of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) and the Amish and Mennonites practice the Testimony of Simplicity, which is the simplifying of one's life in order to focus on things that are most important to them and disregard or avoid things that are least important. Not all Christians are Quakers, Amish or Mennonites.
In MCS cognition theory, simplicity is the property of a domain which requires very little information to be exhaustively described. Simplicity (simplism) is sometimes used as a synonym or euphemism for stupidity.
I don't understand how you can call working for a living "greed" when the Bible clearly states that "if a man doesn't work he shouldn't eat." Then to further try and justify your argument you throw the faith healers in the mix. Where in the Bible does it say that Christians and faith healers have to live below their earning potential?
I think YOU ARE A SIMPLETON.

I do live simply.
I want to see statistics proving that "a vast majority" of Christians live in the rat race and are very wealthy.
Please provide statistics proving your statement.
I would highly doubt that even 50% of Christians are considered very wealthy.
Do you have statistics? If not, then you are merely speculating with nothing to go on.
The following link states that some evangelical Christians earn high degrees, but it also states that many give $200,000 a year to causes.

Check this out:
On The Chronicle of Philanthropy's latest list of the 400 top charities, Campus Crusade for Christ, an evangelical student group, raised more from private donors than the Boy Scouts of America, the Public Broadcasting Service and Easter Seals.
I think the Lord would he happy to see that His followers were doing so much good with the money He has helped them to earn. Wouldn't you agree?
Helping others is, after all, what everyone would do well to do, no matter what his or her religious views are.

Don't throw all Christians into that box.... the prosperity gospel is a false teaching and though some buy into it, for Bible readers it's quite obviously a sham.... but thanks, many do need the 'wake up' call....

Tell me why Bush is killing the muslims to get rich via oil in the Middle East. Isn't he a supposedly 'good' christian?

Being rich is not a sin. But desire to be rich with anyway, is sin.
Just be what you are to be.
