My member has a somewhat downward and lateral curvature since childhood. Dirty movie stars do not have this, so regardless of what consolation people give, as an objective person I know I am in a suboptimal state. It does make me self-conscious so I figure I should intervene at some point to make it closer to what I want as a boost to self-esteem which can only be a good thing for me. There is a certain expectation a girl has when a guy removes his garments, so one may as well conform to that as closely as possible I think.
I've done things with a girl before but I suspect they may be improved if I undergo the aforementioned intervention. There is a procedure called plication which essentially cuts out the opposite part of the curve in order to straighten things out.
I do not want anyone finding out though, as it is awkward. That includes family and I am under their health insurance. Also I am wondering about recovery time. Has anyone done it or has any tips for me?

Thanks guys--mainly I want to somehow keep it from parents as it's just too weird. It's not like a sore back or foot or something. I have never even discussed birds and bees with them, this subject is simply not touched upon.
I'll either have to do it discreetly now or wait until I'm working and on my own insurance in a few years (I'm 22 in professional school). I'd prefer sooner as I'm planning to have encounters with more girls and want to be more like Peter North. No matter what girls say that is really what they want, it's true. I would if I were a girl. I don't mean to sulk I am just a realist.

It is not Peyronie's as it has been present for as long as I can remember, was not the result of any trauma, is not worsening, and there does not appear to be any fibrosis/scarring or plaque formation. It is--and I hesitate to use this word to describe anything relating to myself--a "congenital" curvature as the literature describes it.

I've inferred that you're still living with your family and haven't yet had sex and you might be under 18. Well here's a fact, any ordinary hetrosexual girl doesn't care about penis size or shape as long as it's doing its job nice. Also another fact, gays and only gays (I mean no offend) care about penis size since they spend longer times in sexual intercourse, it's proven that worrying about size is because you see it from a male perspective. that's why nude male photos interests gays rather than hetrosexual girls. it's all about self-confidence and having a well-built body and most importantly love.
if you're still persistant, I guess that you should tell your parents only 'cos sooner or later they well know 'cos you're under their health insurance. i suppose if you consulted a trusted doctor your parents will support you and keep it a secret. no parent will joke about his child sexually.
finally, since you mentioned dirty movie. sex is a whole another thing. Don't compare youself to pornstars, they're actors they do it without pleasure and love.

First of all, just how badly is it bent? Is it just minimal to where it goes to the side and doesn't go straight up? Or is it much more pronounced to where it curves around and aims down and is kind of "stuck" in that shape? If it isn't that bad, it may be that you are very sensitive to it because, like anyone else, we don't want to be different? If it is bad enough that it causes problems with intimacy, inablility to do the deed, then I would definitely check into it. Make sure you research it well and speak with doctors and surgeons who you know to be very good and who do that type of surgeries. Be sure they are well practiced at performing what you need to have done. There is a condition ( I THINK it is called Peyronie's syndrome, but it has been so long I have worked in medical field....), anyway, the tissue on one side of the penis tightens and pulls to where it cannot straighten out. The penis can become bent around like a bagel when it stiffens, at worst making intercourse almost, if not, impossible. It can be caused by an injury or it may just occur. There is such a thing as doctor patient confidentiality, so no one can find out. On the insurance, sometimes doctors can use terms , such as corrective surgery, for the info that your family may get, if they give them the info at all, that can be anything from a circumsion to correcting a problem with the urethra. The forms also use codes for procedures and may not have the blantant description on the form. I would definitely talk with your doctor and ask the Dr. IF they feel you would need or benefit from it, and also ask questions about the discretion and confidentiality of such a procedure given the circumstance. They usually keep pretty close tabs on the workings of insurance and if you let them know your situation they may have a way to help you keep it personal. Have them give you a GOOD referal for a specialist. I would always ask the nurses in the offices and hospitals (hospitals are best) who the best are, they work with them and know their reputation. If you really want to keep it secret and not let anyone know you had any kind of intricate surgery, you may need to stay with someone who will take care of you and help you after, take your vacation time. There is bandage changing and cleaning the wound involved that you may have to do every few so many hours. You will probably be on some pain meds and also may need anti-biotics and other care involved. It may also be that you don't need anything done at all. It is not unusual to feel different if you don't look EXACTLY like the examples you have seen and feel bad or inadequate. WHY do you think SO many girls get implants, lipo, lip implants or other things done? There is NOTHING WRONG with them but they see these NOT NORMAL, REBUILT VERSIONS and think that is what they should be to be normal. I even had a girl who had seen NOTHING but breast implants and DIDN'T KNOW WHAT NORMAL BREASTS ACTUALLY LOOKED LIKE OR FELT LIKE! She kept complaining that her breasts were "deformed" because they "didn't POP out round and stick straight out at the top and didn't have that round ridge around her breasts! (the edge around the implant) AND she thought ALL breasts were supposed to stick out, be hard and look like she stuck a grapefruit under her skin. I sent her to a women's spa with communal saunas, and such and also showed her medical pictures of REAL women, as well as art work with women's breasts. When she saw the ''fake" look to the altered ones compared to how pleasing the natural were, she saw that she was beautiful like the women in the paintings. I would also ask any women you have been with that you know would be honest and sensitive to your feelings and if they felt it impaired the experience at all or if it was just fine. I have seen quite a few and there have been a few different ones and it actually enhanced the experience because of the position it went places and hit spots "where no man has gone before". I had NO complaints! So be sure to check it out completely, maybe if it is in the normal range, talk with a psychologist so that YOU feel good about you. Feeling "normal" and feeling confident is important to a quality life. Explore all avenues and then make a intelligent , informed decision. I think that though if no one has complained or commented and things have gone smoothly before, you need to stop comparing and enjoy. Good luck and I hope you find the answer you need and are looking for. Validation and confirmation helps put things in perspective, which ever way it goes. AND you may not feel so odd or out of place after a doctor checks you and if you need surgery your family may understand and be very helpful. If not there is always vacation time. Good luck to you.

The doctor and hospital are forbidden by law from telling anyone anything about your condition without your permission.
I reckon the bills will show up with very generic terminology in order to satisfy this law as well. ("Procedure" not "Penis Surgery") If Mom or Dad is paying for the insurance, I'd recommend making them aware of your situation. You'll be better off if they can be you partners in this, not your adversaries...

Peyronie's disease is fibrosis of the cavernous sheaths leading to contracture of the investing fascia of the corpora, resulting in a deviated and sometimes painful erection.
Treatment results are unpredictable. Oral vitamin E and K para-aminobenzoate have had varied success. Surgical removal of the fibrosis and replacement with a patch graft may be successful or may result in further scarring and exaggeration of the defect. A series of local injections of verapamil or high-potency corticosteroids into the plaque may be effective, but oral corticosteroids are not. To assist potency, a prosthesis may be implanted but may require a patch procedure to straighten the penis.
Please see the web pages for more details on Peyronie's disease.
