Sorry but a minority who are claiming to be the leaders of Islam ARE causing war and committing terrorism throughout the world! This is in no way the majority of Muslims as I know lots who are disgusted by what happens and claimed in the name of Islam! It is true this religion is founded on peace and is misinterpreted by zealots! Remember the new Iraq National army are Muslim and are being murdered by so called religious brethren! J

It's reasonable not to attack those who are innocent of terrorism. However, at least part of the problem lies with some aspects of Islam.

Look at it's history. It's founder condoned and encouraged the subjugation and slaughter of those who refused to submit to his leadership. In the ensuing centuries Islam spread by the sword throughout Asia, Africa and Europe. Even in modern times, Christians have been butchered in places such as Indonesia and Sudan by those spreading their dominion in the name of Allah.

However, some modern Muslims do try to reinterpret Islam as a religion of peace and claim that extremists are abusing their religion as a cover for terrorism. Further, in all fairness, I suspect many terrorists are acting as they do because they feel the West has wronged the Islamic world. Also, hypotheically, suppose it turns out that Islam happens to be the true religion. Then by forcing people to turn to Islam, they would be leading them away from eternal damnation.

So you see the matter is very complex and I don't think your simple statement does justice to the issues. In summary though, while the efforts of Islamic moderates is to be applauded, you can't get around the fact that their Koran does condone violence to advance their cause.

Do agree but very difficult sometimes to know the motives of a group which at the best of times is quite closeted..there is no transparency,,,I have known many Muslims most of who like to talk about Islam between one another but nobody that can cross borders and dialogue with other faiths and beleive its because they dont have an understanding or a core belief that there are other faiths...

I heard Walid Shoebat, an Islamic Palestinian born in Jerusalem who was trained in the mosques by the Imams to become a Jihad terrorist, explaining Islam, The Qu'ran, & Mohammed. He is one of the most unbiased, well-read, well-educated gentlemen and foremost authority on Islam I have ever heard speak.

He may even be on the Internet. I believe I heard that he has authored a book. Check him out.

I agree but only up to a point. The fact that I hold another faith can be regarded as an attack on Islam in the same way as Islam can be regarded as an attack on Christianity because among other things it does not accept Christ as the Saviour. So I respect the sincerity of those who hold the faith of Islam but I can not be expected to hold the faith in much regard.
I have no regard for those who use their faith as a political weapon and excuse to murder other people. All faiths are guilty of that from time to time.

I agree. I would a bit widen the statement by saying " Never attack any religion but those using their religions as a cover for doing things obviously bad and base."

But media keeps evey action of any ignorant muslim under Islam.

A man is taking a walk in Central park in New York. Suddenly he sees a little girl being attacked by a pit bull dog . He runs over and starts fighting with the dog. He succeeds in killing the dog and saving the girl's life. A policeman who was watching the scene walks over and says: "You are a hero, tomorrow you can read it in all the newspapers: "Brave New Yorker saves the life of little girl" The man says: - "But I am not a New Yorker!" "Oh ,then it will say in newspapers in the morning: 'Brave American saves life of little girl'" – the policeman answers. "But I am not an American!" – says the man. "Oh, what are you then? " The man says: - "I am a Saudi !" The next day the newspapers says: "Islamic extremist kills innocent American dog.
