There is no documented evidence that this therapy cures cancer. There have been several Clinical Trials conducted in the US and in other countries. There was some slight indication that those patients using Gerson might have lived longer. But none of them were 'cured'. A caution with Gerson is that patients have died from loss of nutrients due to taking enemas. It would seem though that Gerson has been around for a long time and it seems that it if it worked at all there would be a more supportive documentation. The lack of documentation indicates that it is too difficult to establish any benefit among a range of cancer patients. So . . if there are more effective methods out there . . why bother putting yourself through an enema like this.

You can read more about the Gerson Therapy and the Clinical Trials at:

Fact of the matter is, you can eat as much organic fruit and veg as you like, but it will neither prevent nor cure cancer. Reason? It doesn't have anywhere near the sort of effect on cancer that approved treatments do. Organic fruit and veg is healthy, yeah, we can agree on that, but along with "vegetarian diet, raw juices, coffee enemas and natural supplements" --- it has no effect on cancer whatsoever. Even the notion that it does is complete bollocks. Where is this "Gerson's" proof? Surely following this "plan" would kill you long before you might have died had you have chosen to have conventional (that is to say FDA or MHRA approved) treatment. They recommend not having chemo at all whilst on the therapy --- and they suggest being on this therapy for about 18 months (at least) by which time the cancer would most likely have spread, with little chance of chemotherapy working. An organic diet can not cure cancer --- much less, can a coffee enema (those are dangerous) assist in the curing of such a disease. Alternative therapies can not cure cancer --- that is a fact. I wonder if the people who provide the "Gerson Therapy" even know how many different cancers exist, and that they are all separate diseases...I am willing to bet that they don't. There are only so many ways you can take organic fruit and veg. They seem to be against the "cancer industry" but they are an industry all of their own --- making money from people who are desperate. The only way cancer could possibly be "cured" with this therapy, is if the cancer went into spontaneous remission --- which basically means the cancer just goes away in the absence of chemotherapy or radiotherapy. But this is a rare occurrence of about 1 in 100,000 cases --- and those are NOT accurate numbers. Neither "Gerson Therapy" or "The Burzynski Method" (or a personal favourite of a frequent poster here a treatment "discovered" by "Doctor" Coldwell) work. Alternative therapies are not approved for cancer treatment by the FDA or the MHRA or whoever else because they either don't work or are far more harmful than what they are claimed to be. I guess you can say that I (along with many others here) have complete and utter faith in conventional (approved) treatments for cancer --- it saved the life of my cousin, aunt and my grandpa was in remission completely after stomach cancer. Several members in this place have had their cancers treated successfully with conventional treatments. Sure, and organic fruit and veg diet won't do you any harm, but it won't cure your cancer either. Ebdon is clearly hoping that he won't also get cancer --- most cancers aren't even genetic, especially lung cancer. There's nothing wrong with adopting a vegan lifestyle (as he has done) but it won't stop you getting cancer (nor will it cure it), because even the healthiest person has the potential to get cancer. I have a feeling a certain someone will be along to call me a "compulsive liar" or something along those lines... To recap: *The people who provide this treatment are far bigger "money grabbers" than the people they claim are the "cancer industry". At least chemo and radio therapies are actually approved --- that tells you something. There is no conspiracy to keep treatments from us. *Alternative therapies don't work on anything. *A vegan lifestyle neither prevents nor cures cancer of any sort.

Run any non medical treatments by www.Quackwatch.org.

Some alternative therapies can make you more sick or interfere with what your doctor is doing for you.
