So I've recently identified myself as a binge-eater and I have very, very low self-esteem. I was wondering what you think about this way to try to help myself into recovery.
I'm thinking of trying the master cleanse or lemonade diet (with a a break every 7 days) for perhaps 3 weeks. I think that this would not only help me with raising my self confidence coz it will at least help me lose weight, but at the same time, I could really focus on my binge-eating problem and what's causing it and everything (I have my psychiatrist to help me).
So what do you guys think?

If you have a Dr. helping you, I think that is great!!!! I have had this problem in the past also.....I also had guidance along the way, I had a psychologist......he suggested journaling...which I still do.....helped me to see why I did the things I did.....the only bad thing is that sometimes you convert your eating into another bad habit...I KNOW...this happened to me.....that is why journaling is so important...Talk to your psychiatrist about this and see what they say.....
I totally understand what you are saying about raising your self confidence, once you start raising your self confidence, you will be able to conquer more things....but like I said, it is still a cycle you will have to break......if you are not eating, you could find another habit -- so be careful......
Talk to you Psychiatrist, keep up with followups and journal instead of eating or doing other things that could become addictive......
I was also a food junkie, I have now lost over 90 lbs and kept it off for several years though exercise, cutting back on food, and drinking lots of water......and I journal almost every day.....
I hope this helps......

Sounds like a plan. But you should be aiming for moderation.
