Could be mange, mites or a number of other skin conditions. She needs to go to the vets and have a skin sample analyzed under a microscope. Only a vet can properly diagnose the problem.
Best of luck.

have you tried frontline? If you use that every month only then can you be 100% sure it is not flea allergy. It is a brilliant product. Then you won't need shampoos, creams, sprays and lotions, none of which will work and he could be allergic to anyway!
I know what I am talking about - I had a 4 year old German shepherd put down to 'unexplained' itching, infected skin after 4 miserable years of cream, lotions, specialists, shampoos, baths, sprays etc .....and it was flea allergy. He was red raw and bald and sick and tired of living in the end. This was in 1988 before Frontline was invented! You've used everything else, so go buy this now and stop bathing him. It is unnatural to bath too often and makes it worse. Get your vet to give him a hydrocortisone shot so he stop itching until it works, and I bet in 2 weeks he'll be a new dog.

When you say you've tried specialist shampoos etc, do you mean you've been to a vet? If not, go now!
Fleas is the most common reason for scratching, but it could also be an allergy. I doubt this has anything to do with having her spayed. Just go to a vet to discover the problem - you're not putting sprays and creams and stuff on her without veterinary supervision are you? If you are you're probably making it worse.

Is her collar irrating her? My boxer has a rolled leather collar, because all other types of flat collars irrate her. Also, it is where the vet put the IV in her? If so, that insertion point may have gotten infected. You can first put antibiotic cream on that spot, wait a day or two, and see if that helps. If not, and if you think it is still infected, then ask the vet, as she will need oral antibiotics. Good luck!

Did she have her claws clipped at the same time as being spayed?
I know this sounds daft, but my dog had his claws clipped, one of them was a bit uneven and when he scratched his neck, he cut it slightly. This cut got infected, and he scratched and scratched at it until it was raw.
We used a tea tree shampoo on it, and washed it every couple of days to keep it clean, and ensured that his claws were smooth on the edges and it cleared up.
If not, take her back to the vets and ask for their advice.

Sounds like a skin infection or iritation. Take her to the vet. Unlikely to be linked to the neutering but a vet can advise much better. Antibiotics and topical cream will clear up the irritation and stop he scratching quickly. Good luck.

Call the vet..it could be a mite...it could ba a reaction to where they placed the i.v., or an infection...shampoos ,sprays, and creams may make it worse.....since it is just the neck, I would bet it is not mites....Good-luck!
