Joe, i do no longer think of you pay attention to hip hop. Christian rap has been a form of music for years now. They communicate of each and every of the useful messages which you point out above. additionally, have faith it or no longer there is, and function been for some years, lots of hip hop being made that doesn't glorify the detrimental stereotypes you notice on television. motives why there is not greater of it truly is because of the fact intercourse and drama sell greater proper than extreme-high quality stuff. in case you attempt to have a message, or are not 'edgy' adequate, or don't have what they call "highway cred", then you definitely're seen corny and checklist labels won't sign you.. there are lots of rappers available who make music for the paintings of it, yet you in no way get to pay attention them considering that music does not make great money. The music industry has marketed that form music to us for some years. endure in techniques whilst rockers used to 'stay rapid, and die youthful'? Now that rap has long gone pop/mainstream, the industry is merchandising it the comparable way. they only replaced the seem to greater healthful the 'inner city'. So what's happening with the popularization of rap, is in basic terms the main recent symptom of an even bigger problem. in spite of each and everything, that's unlike this became a suited, happy, loving international and then rap in basic terms got here alongside and ruined it perfect? seem at our U.S. historic previous. and that i might advise you attempt to envision some good rap, or locate some Christian rap.

It sure would be better than swearing and blaspheming and inciting to murder and drug-taking etc. BUT I think Jesus gave us warnings about standing up in public places to spout on about how godly we are, and that we will not be heard by God for our many repetitious prayers, chants and so on. If Rappers rap about Jesus and prayer, let them do so in private, without hoping to 'entertain' others, or to make financial gain from it.

On one hand, it would be nice for them to stop rapping about their currently preferred topics.

On the other hand, the notion of Christian rap sounds agonizingly bad to me. I find with rock lyrics, at least, that Christian lyrics often fail miserably. It takes a really gifted lyricist to make them work without sounding really cornball. There are musicians that can pull it off, but most can't.

there are christian rappers that use their musical ability to glorify god, but not every rapper is christian.

i am not a rap fan, "da truth" is the only christian rap artist i can think of or atleast a christian rapper that glorifies god, i don't know what religion, if any, the mainstream rappers proclaim. that is their business.

There already exists Christian rap, but it's not that popular.

A better question would be "what if people started buying rap about Jesus and prayer?"
