Honestly speaking does this saying of the prophet muhammed (pbuh) look like Islam teaches men on how to opress women. How much more can one honour a woman than this saying. Praise and glory be to All Mighty Allah

O Messenger of Allah! Who from amongst mankind warrants the best companionship from me? He replied: "Your mother." The man asked: Then who? So he replied: "Your mother". The man then asked: Then who? So the Prophet replied again: "Your mother." The man then asked: then who? So he replied: "Then your father." So this necessitates that the mother is given three times the likes of kindness and good treatment then the father. [Authentic (Sahih) Hadith related by Imaam al-Bukhari hadith #59710 and Imaam Muslim from Abu Hurayrah radialliaahu'anhu]
"And from amongst His Signs is this: That He created from you wives from amongst yourselves, so that you may find serenity and tranquility in them. And He has put between you love and compassion. Indeed, in this are signs for those who reflect." [Quran 30:21]
The status of the Muslim woman in Islam is very noble and her effect is very great in the life of every Muslim. Indeed, the Muslim woman is the initial teacher in the building of a righteous society, providing she follows the guidance from the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Prophet. This is why Our role models today should be people such as Aisha (r.a) and Khadejah (r.a) and all The Prophet (saw) wives.
The only thing women have gained out of Islam is respect, rights and liberation. What more can we ask for? While women here were fighting for voting rights, Muslim women already had that. While no woman has ever been the ruler of a country; Muslim women have. We have rights from Politics, to Marraige and etc...

Yes, mothers/women have been blessed with wisdom and so the urn of knowledge has been placed on their heads by God.
Women by nature are submissive, caring, loving, sweet and kind and they seem to have more faith in God than men. Perhaps, it is for this reason that Prophet Muhammed rightly noted that paradise lies at the feet of the Mothers who even though they have been oppressed and made poorer by their male counterparts still find time to chit chat with God the Lord of the poor.Paradise is another name for heaven and it is only the poor who see themselves as worthy of going to heaven because the rich with all his money has no time for God let alone to chit chat with Him.

Yes, absolutely...the place of a mother in islam is indeed very high..like you said, she's thrice as important as the father is in the islamic household...after all, she's the one who has to bear all the pain of childbirth etc.,and plays the major part in the bringing up of her children, but not in vain..For Allah surely sees, and he'll reward her for all the pain she'd to bear, for the troubles she so silently tolerated..you can never be a true muslim, if you cannot respect her and try to return the love she showered us, even if the person follows the five pillars of islam and the six of faith...

salam brother... yes i sure care for my parents but prefer my mother more than daddy. I love that saying of the prophet muhammed by the way. Well the love for your spouse and parents is different but i think i should be caring for them equally. and if there is any confusions between my partner and my parents then i would try my best to solve it. And it was sweet when you said she is the gift after Islam. Mashallah

It is unfortunate that many people who feel pride in resorting to a vilification compaign against this holiest of the prophets deliberately overlook the each and evey moment of his life wherein he had been teaching comassion for woman because first and foremost role a woman plays is that of mother.

I agree everything you said it right.
In my opinion a woman should do everything to please her husband. Tend to his needs and not make it seem like shes his slave.
