I have recently read article about the current 'war' in Iraq and I still have unanswered question to the U.S. government. US&UK invaded Iraq because they claimed Saddam has W.of M.D., he was partly responsible for supporting nine-eleven attacks (or at least covering them), they want to free Iraqi people. Ok, fair enough, but...Until now, after 4 years still no sign of WMD, Saddam's regim is gone and he's dead, nine-eleven is blaimed being done by Al-queada, nothing to do with Iraq. Iraqi people are in worse situation now, as before with Saddam. They have no fuel, electricity, medical care and violence is increasing with every day over there. So my question is, why are there still US, UK, AUS and polish troops fighting in Iraq?! What for are they fighting now, and why did Bush send even +26k troops there? They're just being slaughtered like animals every day with no particular reason! Is Bush even a human being with a heart?!

It's simple really. Forget WMD. Forget the fight to bring democracy to Iraq and forget Saddam.
The fact is both TB & GWB over estimated the response of the Iraqi people to being freed from "tyranny". They expected to be greeted with open arms and the whole population going down on their knees in grateful supplication. Unfortunately they forgot religion and that Muslim sects wouldn't piss on each other if they were on fire.
They have no idea of the fundementals of democracy. The goal of each sect is to be superior over the others. That was the system of Saddam and it kept him in power for 30 years.
The other problem is the situation is non-winnable. the insurgents will not go away. They will still be there the day our troops are pulled out hiding amongst the population ready to compete for control.
The situation is another N. Ireland. The problem is we cannot withdraw and the only possible conclusions are either total civil war or a co-alition Government including the insurgents as per N. Ireland.

there are 3 section in Iraq. The Sunni Muslims, The Shiyah Muslims and the Kurds. As the Kurd's are fighting for their rights quietly through votes in the parliament, the Sunnies and the Shiyahs are fighting among each other for the power in the country. On top of all the mess are the insurgents, who are creating trouble by killing Innocent people from all sides and always their fingers are pointing to one of the three groups. I'm very sure that Saddam's regime had WoMD, chemical and biological, because they used them on Iran during the war and on his own people. I'm living in Kuwait and I've witnessed all, including Kuwait's invasion, with my own eyes.
The Iraqis are a difficult race, but they deserve freedom and to be able to live a normal life. If the coalition troupes are not there any more, the killing will not stop and matters will get worse. I'm glad that the coalition forces are there and I'm thankful that they are fighting and dying for the liberty in the region.

Far too many questions to answer on this forum really but to answer the latter part of your question regarding the deployment of additional US troops. The troops are now in reality a 'peace keeping force' and are still required because the Iraqi Democracy is still in its infancy and the Iraqi Police and Armed Forces though trained, are not yet experienced enough to cope. They do however usually lead the asaults on the insurgents now which is really good news but there is a lot of unrest and they cannot manage it alone at this point. The situation is further compounded by the fact that the terrorists who are fleeing Afganistan are looking for a new home and consider Iraq to be a good place. This problem is also magnified by Iraqs neighbours Iran and Syria who are assisting in the unrest by supplying both arms and manpower (unofficially of course) into Iraq. They want to cause havoc so that the Coalition forces leave (because of political pressures from their own countries) that will then leave them free to pursue their own interest of Nuclear Power and of course future acts of violence againt Israel and heaven knows who else.
Bagdad has long been an area of concern because it is builtup and like a rabbit warren, people hide there. The additional troops were sent to help the Iraqi forces clear all terrorists from Bagdad and of course out of Iraq. So far there it has been a major success, they are able to carry our house by house searches and though it will take a lot more time, the military seem pleased with immediate results. The Iraqi people are fed up of the terrorists who are trying to find more stones to hide under, they want peace. They are working with the Iraqi' authorities in identifying terrorists.
Everyone wants the troops to go home but most people accept that they cannot up and leave, nor can they forecast a date as clearly this would assist the terrorist. It is a waiting game but peace in the middle east is critical to global safety. The USA & UK promised the Iraqi people that they would stay as long as they are needed and we have to keep our word. We have to show the decent peaceloving peoples of the middle east that we can be trusted and our word is our bond. If we break it, there will be many untold resentments for many generations to come. If we have to be resented, I for one would prefer to be resented for keeping my word than for abandonment. The other point worth remembering is that most of the terrorists killed in Iraq, do not come from Iraq. They are only there to set up camp and build alliances and recruit..
Anyway, hope this helps, I tried to keep it short. I am no expert but Foxnews.com is a really good site for the latest info.
May God bless all soldiers, from any country, who stand to face the terrorist so that we can be free.

They are fighting the people that keep fighting back. The same people who keep trying to take control of that country. The same people that Bin Laden him self asked to come in and fight the aggression. The people that Iran and Syria are funding and supplying.
If the people fighting back would walk away from the fight, then Iraq would have a chance to get their government working and the coalition would leave them alone. Yet they seem to think that 100 to 1 casualty rate is acceptable, so they keep coming for more.
For goodness sakes, they are not being slaughtered like animals. Have you ever served in the military? If not, then you have no right to talk about them like that. They volunteer to protect your freedom. They are by far the most successful fighting force ever produced in the world. The casualty percentage is extremely low, and it is a tribute to the training and equipment available to them.

Generally speaking , there isn't any discussion about Israel's lack of participation because it's a given that the Jewish people suffer from vile hatred from many of their Arab neighbors . Having Israeli troops in an Arab country would grossly complicate winning over the hearts and minds of the people themselves . There'd also be a whole separate daily round of attacks upon them and would shift the focus of the war .

Bush and his friends all lies and then they just keep on lying. We shouldn't be there except Bush wants control of their oil. Saddam Hussein isn't the only dictator in the world and other countries really do have WMD's. He knew Hussein didn't and that is why he went after him. He was to easy a target. Now look where we are, it is a terrorist breeding ground.

Son, argument by exaggeration and omission just make you look foolish. Go do your own research instead of ranting in a pretend question. Some of us are older than twenty and know the rest of the story.
You've already chosen sides. So have we.

I could take your statement paraphrase it by asking why Bin
Ladens mob are stll in Iraq. There are two sides in Iraq and
who is responsible for the biggest waste is debatable.
If you question why we are there you also must ask the question of those who follow Bin Laden.

bush has to stay until there is a gov't in place that will abide by opec quotas and keep the record profits rolling for exxon. the only way to get there is a shiite coup. usa is reaching out to shiite militias and leaving positions in anbar province. the end is near. bush can't allow these decisions to be left up to hillary.
