my dad and his bro had this publishing company. they both died and the company is closed now. I used to work there but with no insurance. I have a first degree and several other certificates plus I have written 2 books (fiction). I am 35. now they call me to interviews and they are ready to hire me and the next thing I know someone else is. I think they are all afraid that being 'overqualified' is going to make me run away after a few months. not unlikely since these jobs were way lower than my abilities. I feel the urge to start my own job. am I crazy?

Sounds like you might be better off with your own firm. However, it takes a lot of money to get your own business going. I would suggest having at least 6 months of money on hand, or have a 'bread&butter' job to cover your expenses wheile you get the comapany going.

My only advice is to NOT take in partners. So many reasons that outweigh the good.

If this question is indicative of your writing talent, I think they're well justified not to hire you.

Maybe you should downsize what you write on your resume.
