I believe in Karma in a naturalistic way. All actions have consequences and we either directly or indirectly reap the rewards or penalities of our actions in our lives. I don't believe in future lives karma, that we suffer in other lives for acts in past lives. I do believe in generational karma though, that our children may suffer for our acts after we are gone. For example, we destroy the environment or leave them with the devastation of our wars and then we are punishing our own children with our bad choices and destructive acts.

Both. The larger framework is decided by the karmas of the previous birth. While the nitty gritties of the present lives sufferings/happiness come from the karmas of present life.

This is a subject of long debate. The universal fact is that the reaction of materialistic actions are equally powerful. The spiritual or sensible also, if one's thoughts are diverged, his ideas would suffer. Considering your questions, when rebirth is to be relied as we are not even able to remember the experiences of this life or even of one year back. So, the soul (considered as 'feeling of 'i' - or mine), leaves the body when it is weared and teared due to age, and seek a suitable location and surroundings where the fruits of our cultivation could be experienced. When it is so, among a lot of inner (sentimental or emotional) cycles, we get fruits of what we did.
Held three stones to through the mango, one stone was thrown based on which we can decide whether the mango will fall down (previous birth)- if not, we would throw the 2nd stone (present life). If it is fallen, we seek other mangos. The 2nd stone is our present life. Based on it, we decide ab out 3rd stone we hold (as next birth), to decide how to throw so as the mango falls down. Here the mango is the extremity of knowledge about life and God. More should come from our own thinkings .

Friend,
even as per science there is one law;
''EVERY ACTION WILL HAVE EQUAL AND OPPOSITE REACTION.''
Similarly all our Karmas actionbs only.so they have reactions and we can not escape.A man reaps what he sows.
The Karmas that are carriwed to this birth from last births is called ''PRAARABDAM.''
The Karmas you do in this birth are called '' SANCHITAM.''
THE KARMAS YOU ARE GOING TO DO IN THE BIRTHS TO COME IS CALLED ''AAGAAMI.''
WE HAVE TO , WITHOUT EXCEPTION , SUFFER OR ENJOY HAPPINESS DEPENDING UPON PRAARABDAM AND SANCHITAM.
ONLY THROUGH SRONG WILL POWER, WITH THE GRACE OF A REAL GURU YOU CAN GET RELIEFFROM THESE KARMAAS.aS USING AN UMBRELLA IN SUNSHINS,SCORCHING ONE. THERE IS SOME RELIEF.

I'm a Christian, but I really like the concept of Karma. There's a similar thing in Christianity (you reap what you sow). Therein, it only applies to this life.

Does it really mater?
Your immediate concern is to deal with what's before you.
Knowing why it happened can be considered when there's no work left to be done.
I get migraines once or more a week. I don't know why they happen, to find out I go to the doctor, not to a minister.
Good luck with whatever you're dealing with...
who knows it may not even be about you at all.

You can believe in karma without believing in reincarnation. If you don't believe in being born again then you can be assured that what you did will come back to you in this life. It is the cycle of the world- its natural order.

whatever you are doing to day... you are going to get their return in this life itself...
there is no rebirth... it is a misconcept and superstition...
the sufferings or cheer that you are getting today are the result of your deeds that you have done yesterday... and contribution from your family members and your previous generations...
