"The third major characteristic of God - "infinitude" - is the catchall, the universal modifier of Christian theology. God is not merely a being; he is infinite being. God is not merely good; he is infinite goodness. God is not merely wise; he is infinite wisdom. And so on down the list. God is exaggeration run amuck."

Well don't forget these are only attributes that have been given to god by human beings. If you are going to create something then you have to create it so perfect that there can be no flaws in it. Sometimes the cracks begin to show and then the cracks get bigger until eventually everything has fallen apart. I am waiting until they find some kind of life form out in space somewhere, there will be a lot of questions to answer. Or perhaps god just decided to randomly make life forms out there too.

A) You're right. B) Whatever gave you the idea that the Genesis story is anything but an explanation given by a non-scientific people for the phenomenon of the rainbow with a moral lesson tossed in for good measure? C) The Noah story is taken almost in whole cloth from a portion of the Sumerian "Epic of Gilgamesh"; its serial numbers filed off and a moral lesson attached. The entire Epic, btw, is not only the first epic known from ancient times, but it's available today and makes for some crackin' good reading. D) In future, when you're tempted to denigrate God and it comes to you that you're doing so because God seems to be portrayed as an idiot, stop and think. Isn't it far more likely that the person(s) making up the tale are the ones with the limited understanding? NOT The Lord of ALL!

Yes- anything we can go He can do much better. He is everythign and everything is Him. I mean, he has to be to garner any kind of following at all-who would worship a God who was merely good and wise? Men can also be good and wise- do we worship them?

Religion overpromises and underdelivers. We have not given God a fair chance in a relly long time.

Maybe yes, maybe no. Here's one of my theories though... If god truly loves every person on earth why would he make himself so much better than all of us? Idk, just a theory i have.
