The one thing I DO NOT stand for is people forcing their belife systems on me or others against their will! I belive freedom of choice is everything! A lot of religous fanatics force religion on the Non religous types....this is wrong. Ps I belive in God but that is my choice....I pressure no one and think its terrible when others put down people for not choosing their religion. If my child wants to be a buddhist, Athiest....even Muslim that is their right!

Although we are suppose to share and spread the word. There is a wrong and right way to do it.

My Dad was approached the wrong way. The people did more damage than good. Talking to my dad about God is now strictly forbidden in his house.

I don't think that this is what God wanted when he said to go and spread the word. It can't be forced down peoples throats. It must be done with respect.

Well, that would depend on your definition of "forcing" something on someone.

Listen to the song "Free Will" by Rush, or just look up the lyrics.

Even if a person decides not to choose a religion, they've still made a choice, and that choice will reflect on their children.

And that choice goes down the line for EVERYTHING, from politics to music. Having no opinion is still having an opinion.

I don't force anything on anyone. They can choose to listen, or they can choose to not listen. It's up to them.

You're a wingnut. Nobody is forcing anything on anyone.

When I lived in Santa Cruz, there was a homeless guy who'd (literally) stand on a freaking soap box and shout fire and brimstone inspired rants, the spittle flying from his mouth, the anger of Yahweh in his eyes. Nobody ever tried harder to put the fear of God in a person than he, and he wasn't forcing anything - he was just amusing.

Religious parents raising their children with like-minded religious values is a completely different subject. I'm not about to tell another parent how to raise their kid, because I expect this is how I shall be treated.

When I go door to door as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, I am afraid of the cruelty I might face infront of my children, but I get through it because I know that Jesus commanded us to find people to teach the word of God to the and make desciples of them, so I have to suck it up, because I never know when it might be this door thats the one who is a potential Bible study, I was not raised in the Truth, I had a Bible study with a JW when I was 14, it opened my heart and eyes to want to learn about the Bible, now I am trying to return the favor, I love people, I want them to know about the paradise earth God promises us, and ever lasting life, I don't go door to door thinking of an argument, I just want to share some scriptures, and hopefully they will talk to someones heart, and give them a desire to learn about what the Bible really teaches. How else can someone do that if they don't study the Bible. Some people's parent's dont teach them God's word, but a JW will.

I don't know of anyone, unless you are talking about some strange cult, that is forcing any belief system on any other. We are to share our beliefs with one another. And if you thought you were right and knew the truth, would you not want others to know the same thing??????????

It's their own insecurity. By getting everyone else to believe what they do, they think their own self-doubts might be lessened.

"People are zealous for a cause when they are not quite positive that it is true."
— Bertrand Russell

"No one is fanatically shouting that the sun is going to rise tomorrow. They know it's going to rise tomorrow."
— Robert M. Pirsig, (1928)

"Truth does not demand belief. Scientists do not join hands every Sunday, singing, "Yes, gravity is real! I will have faith! I will be strong! I believe in my heart that what goes up, up, up must come down, down, down. Amen!" If they did, we would think they were pretty insecure about it."
— Dan Barker

"I see now more clearly than every before that even our greatest troubles spring from something that is an admirable and sound as it is dangerous -- from our impatience to better the lot of our fellows."
— Karl Popper

"We preoccupy ourselves so much with changing the lives of others not out of proclaimed sentiments of selfless human charity, but out of our selfish desire to validate our own identities. There is, of course, enormous ego gratification in the exercise of power over other people, but such satisfaction is rooted in our need to have others believe and behave as we do."
— Butler D. Shaffer

"So long as man remains free, he strives for nothing so incessantly and so painfully as to find someone to worship. But man seeks to worship what is established beyond dispute, so that all men would agree at once to worship it. For these pitiful creatures are concerned not only to find what one or the other can worship, but to find something that all would believe in and worship; what is essential is that all may be together in it. This craving for community of worship is the chief misery of every man individually and of all humanity from the beginning of time. For the sake of common worship, they've slain each other with the sword. They have set up gods and challenged one another, "Put away your gods and come and worship ours, or we will kill you and your gods!" And so it will be to the end of the world, even when gods disappear from the earth; they will fall down before idols just the same."
— Fyodor Dostoyevsky; (1821-1881)

Hello and i agree no one should force anyone to believe, God Himself in order for Love to be Love allows folks like Adam and Eve to say NO to Him and do what they want in spite of God's direct command, but look at what happened to them and us, not following God because of Love has terrible results, and the results is death so yes i do point very strong to Jesus Chirst who is mighty to save but it is as always your free choice but with the "eternal" results that goes with it, God bless. www.amazingfacts.org for free bible lessons.

Why are you here where it is being discussed then? No one is forcing only sharing different beliefs.

It depends on what you mean by "forcing" it on them. In what way are they forcing it?
