what i mean is sometimes we find it hard when we think that we will die sooner or later. Do you or do you not believe that there is something that God has put in to our substance/body that make us felt that way in regards with dying.

God made human beings as immortals...it was sin that made it possible for us to die....dying was never intended by God....it is actually unnatural for us to die...as God made us immortal we naturally have a desire to go on living....because of Jesus's sacrifice for us and the price He paid we can now have a future of immortality beyond death...we still bear the initial consequences of our sin...which is death...but there is an upside if we are willing to turn our backs on sin...

Well if one looked at life from a logical biological point of view then to die is perfectly natural. It is somewhat satisfying to realize that one day I will be part of some star, perhaps in another galaxy somewhere. Because even if I turn to dust and powder I still am something and still belonging to the universe and no matter how hard I tried I could not be separated from it. There is a certain satisfaction in knowing once I am dead there is nothing more to be concerned about, no thought, no action, just death and that doesn't frighten me in the least, because truly I won't know a thing about it. I don't want to go to heaven and be constantly praising and worshiping some god that is so lacking in self esteem that he/she needs me to constantly uplift them..how boring for eternity. I think if there is a god that god is way above needing that kind of thing. But I guess humans need a heaven or most of them would find their existence totally meaningless.

I recently heard a TV preacher, Don Wilton, explain that even though we talk about how we as Christians are ready to go to our reward. But let a heart attack begin and I don't know one of us that wouldn't be asking someone in the congregation to call 911 or for medical assistance.
But I hope personally that if the day comes that I should have to choose to deny my faith in God or to die that I don't fail my Lord and make the choice to die for Him.
And I would like my death to be quietly in old age with good health (mental and spiritual) and not the result of some unnecessary accident or violent death.
My mother always said that there should be weeping at the birth, and joyful singing and praise at a persons death. And that is the way the Bible explains it too.

Congratulations! Your question IS the defining moment in today's society. Young people don't want to die because there is so much to do in so little time. This is why today's generation is so caught up in material objects. They'll do anything to stay alive for another day to play on the XBOX 360, eat at Taco Bell, have unprotected sex... well, maybe not the last one. Anyway, the point is, is that death IS INEVITABLE. Teens don't want anything to do with it because there is so many things that life has to offer. They want to be invincible, when in the end, there is no such thing. BTW, mortality is a feeling, not a farfetched idea. It's in us all. The older one gets, the stronger it gets. Hope it helps.

It is called self-awareness. Chimps, elephants, and dolphins have it as well. Is there a heaven for them? We believe in an afterlife because the status quo wants us to be good little citizens while they screw us so they offer us ecstacy in the hereafter so that we will not stir up any problems. Ever notice how the people who are the leaders of various faiths doesn't matter which one are also some of the wealthiest.
I am with Epicurus: upon death the soul is annihilated. So while alive death does not matter. Once dead you are no longer around to care. So live life to the fullest for this is your only shot.

I think that because Satan was able to trick Adam and Eve into eating the poisonous fruit, it brought evil into the world. The negative thoughts, including the fear of dying, is a consequence of their actions. I am personally not afraid of dying though, because I know that Heaven is a wonderful place to live eternal life with God.

I think with the gift of reason and ability to contemplate our world and ourselves came the downside of also being able to comprehend our mortality. I think the instinct for survival is hardwired in us, animals struggle to survive although probably don't contemplate or grasp the concept mortality as we do. A species must survive long enough to reproduce if the species is to continue so that trait is strongly selected. I personally don't find any reason to believe that a God instilled this trait, I believe it can be completely explained and understood in naturalistic terms.

You might find it interesting to ask what part of you is afraid of your coming death? Perhaps with some more seeking you may find that something in you wants more than the 'here for a bit and then off we shuffle' Everyone around you is going to die too, does this prompt a little compassion?

I do not believe in death. Both times I have been clinically dead I go straight to the door with the light, and it is very peaceful and I look forward to going back. I believe when you are saved you do not die, you spirit only leaves your body and goes on infinitely, forever and never ceasing.

I really don't know. Personally, I am not afraid of death. I don't want to die, but it's going to happen and I'm okay with that. I suppose most people don't want to die, because many are uncertain of what comes after death, or the way it will happen.
