I had a problem some months ago with not being able to sleep. Maybe you have some problems or issues you need to sort out. Try writing a list of everything you need to do and what you are going to do to get them done.
Don't drink any caffeine within a few hours of going to bed
Get some exercise, but not within two hours of going to bed.
Drink a soothing drink that has no caffeine in it, like warm milk or chamomile tea...make sure it is caffeine free.
Take a relaxing bath before bed, even if your a guy, putting some nice scents in the bath like lavender will relax you making sleep easier.

You must be in the UK. I find that reading a book always helps me fall asleep quickly as it tires out your eyes. A warm glass of milk supposedly possesses some chemical to help bring on sleepiness, it's actually worked for me. Do you own any soft music? The music may help clear your mind and make you feel at peace long enough so that you can rest. I hope some of these suggestions have been helpful.

Insomnia (sleeplessness) is due to stress,
dietary and medical problems. By making
small lifestyle changes like having a fixed
daily routine, relaxing and eating properly,
insomnia can be cured. I found the information
at http://www.nosleep.in/insomniacause.html
