Mainly, fungus growing underneath false nails is caused by moisture. If any moisture gets trapped under the artificial nails, that is breeding ground for fungal growth. Problems can also be caused by implements that have not been disinfected properly. In either case, be sure you are going to a reputable salon, ask around and see what others have to say about the place. There is only so many ways you can prevent nail fungus from occurring, but at the same time...getting a nail fungus is not very common. Easiest way to prevent nail fungus under artificial nails is to just not get them done.

This is true.. But only if left on for too long. Your nails need time to breath. So when you take them off give them a few days to breath before you put more on. Don't keep regeling them. Ask them to take them off. Once they are off you will notice ridges and how thin your nails are.
I don't recommend them.. I had them for years and then realized that growing your own nails is a lot easier than most ladies think. Just keep nail polish on them and they will stay hard. Don't forget to file them when needed for maintenance and to avoid any nicks that might catch onto something and tear them. :) Have fun!

you can get infected if the salon doesn't do their job and keep the tools clean. I get them done all the time and have never gotten an infection
