You know, I'm Catholic, but I am not trying to convert anyone to anything.
Fanatics and extremists exist in every area.
I believe if anyone wants to try to get a point across, they'll have better luck in using plain, simple English.
People become extremely defensive and then offensive. I am guilty of this myself at times, but everyone is getting nowhere and fast.
State your opinions without insulting someone, be open minded and respect the others view.
If you can't agree; then agree to disagree. But, it's human nature to argue and fight to the death.
I'm older and trust me, you'll get further, no matter what you believe, if you try to calmly talk with each other. Now, I will star this question so I can take my own advice when I need it. Be good kids.
Edit: I'm not that old.

I was going to say, "because there are so many stupid and sarcastic questions". Perhaps it is your question formulation.
There is a backlash against Christianity. It has been used to control people, start wars, and support unfair social practices around the world for centuries. Many other religions have done this. But in the English speaking world(these questions are all in english, remember) Christianity is the most visible. Too bad for you.
You are asking people to give their opinion on an issue. You cannot expect that every answer will please you. You cannot expect that all people will express themselves in the same way. It is part of the nature of this place to get bad answers, and the nature of people to sometimes be serious, sometimes sarcastic, sometimes praising, sometimes insulting. That is life. Suck it up.
Why does Christianity insist on saving us from logic? I don't know about others, but I just like to make sure people are thinking. That they aren't just believing everything an authority figure says just because they are an authority figure. Humans are imperfect. It is natural for them to do things that are best for themselves. You should understand this. I feel that faith that has been questioned is the strongest. I have no problem with faith, only blind faith.
I suggest taking it as a test of faith and solidarity from your god to go through all this abuse.

Who says this forum is only for Christians? I thought it's a place where everyone can give their opposing point of views. And to be fair, atheists (and other religions) get their fair share of "back lash" from people who claim to be Christians.
So my question is, what kind of example are some of you Christians showing, especially since it's expected of you not to judge others?

Calm down my friend; sadly for you, they have as much right to be here as you do. People have their opinions on matters, specially sensitive matters like religions. Society is made up of different kinds of people and the Internet is a place where you can get awaty with saying things you would not be able to in the real world. Stand up for what you believe in and do not be offended by the rude responses. Not everyone here is looking for intelligent debates; some people just want to have fun.

Well, everyone has a habit of being rude or sarcastic sometimes, but I do see what you mean.
Some "Christians" on this site answer questions addressed to atheists only, saying things like "You just need Jesus" or "You're going to hell!"
Meanwhile, some atheists answer questions addressed to Christians only, saying things like, "There is no God."
I've seen plenty of the former, and I've experienced plenty of the latter as well.
I think all of us who AREN'T trolls should just try to show more kindness towards each other (regardless of religion or lack thereof)...and we need to make sure we don't feed the trolls.

This is why...
Because instead of approaching the matter like an adult you are quick to point fingers which isn't the way of a christian.
I have also seen atheists get attacked. they have their belief and we have ours.
This is a place of discussion and learning not a place to try and rip eachother to pieces every chance we get lol.

You make a good point about the rudeness; there is no justification for that. Sarcasm is just a style of writing that sometimes works, sometimes flops. Do you also object to the funny responses?
[ Oh, I see. Thumb down means that funny is also objectionable. Got it. ]

It is my earthly duty to point out the facts of this earth and to spread reality to those who are religious. I don't want you to give up your belief... I just want you to admit that science is right and that your belief is based on mythology that was around LONG before Christianity even had a name.
And I can show you a laundry list of rude and sarcastic and even hurtful comments made by religious folks to atheists and other non-believers... just say the word and I'll post it. No one here has a monopoly on rudeness.
