I believe a soul mate is a counterpart , a mirror of our own soul. I do not think they are always the romanticized version most think of when saying or hearing the word.

I believe that we opportunities to meet several soul mates in a lifetime. A soul mate (i believe) is another person (a soul) who has shared with you in another lifetime, something precious, familiar, true. And he/she will (if they trust their instincts) be able to open thyself to the truest most vulnerable love. Thus, completing the full circle of God's love and a relationship in God's light can only spread more love and joy in this world. I have had one other soul mate in this lifetime - many, many years ago. However, we have mutually agreed that this lifetime, we are meant for other lessons, other experiences, other paths and we will not be making a family together this life. Luckily, another soul mate has been in my life for over 10 years. Two children later, i have no question that he and i are meant for each other. And connected in a very soulfull, spiritual sense.

No, but it's a pleasant thought to entertain. The planet has 6.6 billion people. If for the sake of argument you assume 1/2 are women and 1/2 are men and subtract out people not within your dating range, that still leaves approximately 1 billion people you could possibly be compatible with. Of that maybe 100,000 would likely qualify as soul mates. This might sound unromantic but we only meet .00001% of all potential soul mates in our lifetime. If we were able to meet all of our prospective partners, there are probably quite a few we could fall in love with.
