And held it. . .
And held it. . .
Who is looking out at you?
Wanna try it?

Nendlin,
I wonder if you could look long enough to see who is even behind that poor little girl. It wasn't her fault, was it?

The true way to look into infinity!
I do this all the time, boy what a rush! Thank you for the memories! Got a little chill down the spine... Mmmmm the chilly willies are fun!
AND, in reply to Vicarious Cynic... OMG is it ever so intense to do this with another person... Pure Love?...
EDIT-- And I forgot to mention... If you do this close enough to the mirror, so that you can't see much in the peripheral, the mirror disappears and you are left with only yourself...with only yourself... with only yourself...

Yes, when I was a kid I'd freak myself out doing it. I always saw a man with a beard and I was scared. If you stare long enough it can change several times too.
I like doing it to people on the T.V and sometimes without even trying it happens when I am just looking at someone.
The mind can play weird tricks on you, huh? It is our minds right? I mean what else could it be?

Yes. And, it's always freaked me out. It's that old cliche about eyes as the windows to the soul. However, if you ever need to psyche yourself out for something then go into a bathroom alone, look into a mirror - stare yourself in the eyes and repeat the words to yourself - convincingly for a few moments and Go Do It! Works every time! Freaky but true!

I see....
dark brown eyes that have seen too much
that have witnessed the devastation that one human can do to another
dark brown eyes that try to comfort, try to ease the pain of those who are suffering
dark brown eyes that look into a martini trying to find a way to deal with what's been seen throughout the day

What a beautiful question.
I often do this.
I see so much amongst all the mixed colours in my eyes.
I see the dark brown eyes of my abusive father & I thank him for the lessons he taught me.
I see the green hues of my mother & thank her for the lessons she taught me.
I see a navy blue outline around my iris, almost as if the child in me has drawn around it in felt pen, with such precision & innocence.
I see eyes that have seen too much & cried too often.
And I see strength, gentleness, love & forgiveness.
The windows to the soul indeed.
Love & good wishes as ever.

I have sometimes I look so deep into my brown eyes that I understand what people tell me, that my eyes are very expressive and its hard to hide when I am upset, sad, joyful, stressed, etc.

Yep, ever done that with a total stranger. It is very powerful - outside of comfort zones and intimate in an unexpected way.

When I look into my own eyes I see eyes. My own personality is withheld from the eyes. It makes me think about what I believe in and how I hold my own counsel. I can trust my own eyes, and feel assured that everything is going as it should in my life.

Yes I have. What did you discover? :-) Do you know that when the mirror was invented it was thought that would solve the problem but oh boy where we wrong :-) Only those, such as yourself can look at it with the original intent. I am looking at me... my question is, what is our intent?
