Does the Truck series have a bunch of drug addicts racing in it or what? I know they recently let some guy go for failing a drug test, I think.

Well I'm not a Truck fan, so I don't care. As long as we don't have any druggies in Cup I'll be happy. But this is odd how driver who keep getting busted for drugs are Truck Series drivers.

As drug use has become a major issue in America, Nascar does take it very seriously. There have been 4 other drivers that have faced the ire of Nascar including Tyler Walker in 2007, Kevin Grubb in 2004, Brian Rose in 2003, and Shane Hmiel with repeat offenses who went on to be banned from Nascar for life in 2006.

I seriously doubt that Nascar (any part of it) has a bunch of drug addicts. I know that there was one driver (cant remember is name right off) who was suspended for a long while for having drug or alcohol issues and then was allowed to come back so as long as he kept himself clean.

If Aaron Fike was found with a substance believe to be heroin I do believe that he will pay the price from Nascar, simply because they do not tolerate any sort of drug use in any of it series. Racing that fast is dangerous enough and when you start mixing in drugs and alcohol abuse that can lead to serious accidents on the track.

I was shocked to read this as I got up this morning. I'm really in disbelief. Aaron Fike, a heroin user? No pointing fingers until all the facts are out, but all signs aren't looking good. I'm really amazed at how a heroin user can make it to NASCARS elite division? Ofcourse, If he is using, Maybe it came after the fact. All in All, This is bad for the sport. I hope Aaron can get his issues handled, get back to racing someday, and we can put yet another sports related drug scandal away.

Well, if NASCAR holds true to it's record on dealing with drug abuse I have only one thing to say for Mr. Fike: Career Over!!!

NASCAR, like most companies has a zero tolerence policy for those who use and abuse drugs.

Shane Hmiel and Tyler Walker too. Both are banned right now.

NASCAR has implemented drug testing and is trying to prevent anyone with this stuff in their system trying to get into a 700hp timebomb. This guy is done for a long time if this charge pans out...

There's a three strikes rule at work. Shane Hmiel was suspended on two different occasions for failing drug tests. He was banned for life in 2006 when he failed a third.

I just found out about it this morning, I am sure that NASCAR isn't taking to likeing this very much. I am sure that they'll do the same thing that they did when Shane Meil got busted, and since that happned no one has seen him since.
