More or less it will take you a half day depending upon the pace of the case. If there are more questions on the witnesses, complainant and accused, the longer the trial will be.

I was called for 3 periods of 2-week jury duty by the county court. Each time was 5 years apart. The most interesting part was watching the people try to get out of jury duty - they should have check-sheets for the excuses.

Each time they gave us all colored pieces of paper with instructions like, "call XXX-XXXX to see if you need to appear tomorrow." Sometimes the recording said to show up, sometimes it said call again Xday, once it said I was released from any more assignments so I didn't have to go again. It was a lot of sitting and waiting. The case I was on was a Class X felony drug sale. It lasted a week. I was on a coroners jury and that was 1 day. It would depend on the case you are chosen for. A friend was on a grand jury and that was 2 weeks.

Sometimes you just sit around waiting to be chosen for a jury. They call more people than needed. If you're not chosen, jury duty is only for that day.
