Now it's common to not have anything to talk about especially if it's your first time hooking up but no matter what don't bring up the ex's because thats saying that u still care about the past, talk about what y'all have in common or favorites if their still isn't any convo then u guys are not meant for one another, or the both of you are dull....

ask her general stuff like what she likes-food,clothes,music, colors, animals haha i love it when a guy asks me random questions like "what's your favorite animal?" or about my fave color or if i have pets and stuff. if you know all of this, ask about her dreams and aspirations in life. what she wants to be (im guessing yall are young), and while you ask her these questions make sure to relate with her. be a good listener-make eye contact, smile&laugh at appropriate times,and give your thoughts and preferences on the subject. sometimes you have to open up first before she opens up! everyday ask her what she did and what she ate and tell her what you did and what you ate. it makes for great small talk! and if you dont know what to say after all of that, plan an activity-movies, a gameof catch, nething. if shes bad at some sports, teach her! it doesnt have to be all verbal, physical is good too! hang up on her/tell her u gotta go if there is nothing left to say on the fone. and maybe kissing her, hugging, holding hands-thats all worth more than words! good luck! =)

Anything at all! Compliment her , or talk about what you two are interested in. Talk about things you like and see if you find a common interest. Just start chatting and a conversation will start :)
