IMO when they do that, they're too chicken to do it in English because they know they'll get whooped!

I don't think they cuss you or insult you when they talk in their own language. It is very childish to think that way.

People who "cuss you out" are probably very emotional about the issue and may not know the English words to express what they are feeling. When you go to an ESL class they don't have a chapter on What to Say When Someone Really Pisses You Off.

I think it´s just a natural reaction for someone to curse on his mother language. At least when it comes to spontaneous, real cursing - if you have english as a seccond language, it takes a while untill you can curse in english not feeling stupid.
Otherwise, you feel ridiculous, like you were always calling the target of your cussing "you silly person".
I don´t usually curse people. But when something goes wrong, I have to shout a "puta que pariu!", "filha da puta", "porra", "caralho" or other sincere stuff in portuguese :-)

No, not whooped but in anger, it is much better to express it in their native tongue. Gets the emotion out of one's system faster. If it were me, I would also do it in my own language and not in English. Much too lengthy in English; there are words in our dialect that cannot be translated into short English words or sentences. Mas maayo pa mag-Binisaya, mahutdan man sad tag English ah. I said and I quote "It is better to speak Visayan (my language from Cebu, Philippines) or I'd run out of English words."

All of this could be eastern. Kusou - damn, damn it, sh*t. Baka - fool Bakana - F*cker Kisama - an extremely impolite version of 'You' yet is often translated as 'Bastard'. Bonkotsu - difficulty-unfastened or uncomplicated. this is all i will think of of on the 2nd. I probable be attentive to greater yet won't be able to think of of it.

NO NOT REALLY !?! Because even if they are saying words in a language that I really have no idea of.. If they are'nt making movements towards me in some way that I'd see as some threat... I'll just be thinking in my head that they are saying : " You stupid lookin this,that & the other: ".Shrug my shoulders,grin & walk AWAY!!?!! '`R,'r.r'r`r,r'r.r`.'-

I guess it's easier and quicker to do it original language because you're usually too pumped full of adrenalin to think straight..

I hate that too.
My friend walked into a library and he was acting tough. He got one of the librarians mad and they got into a argument.
My friend didn't know she can speak Spanish so he started cursing at her in Spanish. The lady gave him a "I AM GONNA KILL YOU LOOK" and ran after him cursing BACK AT HIM in SPANISH! LOL!
But yeah, I hate when they curse at you in Spanish.

i know what you mean! here in india, there are 21 official languages, and lots of other languages and dialects ... so its really common here, and its annoying as hell, do people really think we're so stupid that we don't get what they're doing? we know what you're saying, you might as well say it in english!
