does anyone in BC Canada know of any new forest fires anywhere in the lower part of the province, it seems that in our town there is a lot of water bombers in the area and but visible smoke.

SORRY !!!, it should read, NO visible smoke.

That's a pretty big area to cover. So here is the link to the BC Ministry of Forest list of current fires.

Most areas are pretty inactive, with a lot of announcements of sending crews elsewhere. With all those heatwaves, it is possible the crews were passing through headed East or South.

There actually aren't many fires yet. It's been a pretty cool season this year, the weather is just starting to heat up and dry out now (at least in the Lower Mainland). There are a lot of fires south in the US though, so perhaps the water bombers are fighting fires down there. There could also be little ones burning around your area - there are usually hundreds of fires in BC every season, but most are very small and you just don't hear about them.

i live in ashcroft bc can smell fresh smoke is their a fire near ashcroft thats new?
