My dad is going to kick my 18 yr old sister out of the house because she's rude & disrespectful...( I'm 20yrs old)....He also works a swing shift so he's ALWAYS stressed out. His stress level is getting higher & higher & he said he feels like he's dying. I'm worried. How can someone destress themselves?????

if your sister is stressing him out, kicking her out will help. she's a grown up now and if she can't be respectful she needs to take a hike. your father sounds like he needs a good vacation doing the things he likes to do and getting plenty of rest. he absolutely can die of a heart attack or a stroke if he's stressed out. i'm not being flip about your question but honestly, when you are stressed you have to remove all of the stress factors for your own health- even if it is your own kid.

Physical stress can reek havoc on a person's body and mind. Talk to your Dad. Pick a time when he will really listen and be honest. Let him know your concerns and what you see happening. He may be so wrapped up in work, home, your sister, etc. that he doesn't see the toll it is all taking on him. Maybe you could convince him to just take some time off. His health and the health of your family is more important than anything.
Good luck!

there are ways to help stress -
1. In case your father feels lonely for lack of social life - help him by having family outings.
2. Use phrases like 'because our father says so...( i/ we comply)' - will make him feel good
3. Ask your mother to help him destress - female companionships help
4. Ask your sister to treat him like a larger than life 'father figure'
5. Take him to a doctor - to have clinical treatment of stress ( he may not like to go to a thearapist)
6. Show him love - give him a home that he longes for....

Happiness is cure to all stress - let him understand that what ever happens outside , with his family he can have moments that are worth cherishing for ever

Your sis should be sat down & spoken to & explained that her disrespect is hurting your Dad to this extent. If that doesn't work, she does need to be shown the door. Do try & get your Dad to some kind of stress management course. Yoga helps. Check it out in your locality & get him started. All the very best & do take care!

I don't know how your father is but I would definitely try to get him to see a therapist or what not. He needs help with dealing with his stress. He might have strain on his heart or what not.

Don't ignore it. He needs help and you need to be there for him!
