im 18 and weight around 150 and im 5'4, i want to lose weight, but i hate going to the gym because its really boring for me and i like something that is more active. i thought of taking boxing however some people told me that u dont lose weight you just gain musile and your soulders become square (my sholders are bigger because i took swimming when i was younger), so i really need a sport and it sound like boxing is fun but i dont want to gain muscles and look like a man, i just want to lose weight ( i will also be going on a diet).

Boxing is not a good way to lose weight. It's better than no exercise at all, but at 5'4"150 lbs you will need more cardio to lose weight while retaining your body tone.
Try something like running or biking. Boxing does involve some footwork but it's mostly about upper body strength and if you don't want "muscles like a man" then you should be focusing lower body strength. If you can't handle biking or running, try an elliptical.
But just to reiterate, boxing is NOT the way to lose weight... its the way to gain upper body strength.

It could help, I hope you enjoy loosing brain cells as well. I would honestly say stick to dieting and cardio, a lot of cardio will drop the most weight fastest.

A Healthy Diet is always good. Boxing is great but if you want something else then running is always fun oh and volleyball...Good Luck!!

if you go boxing and eat not much you will lose weight xtremely...but after boxing you will get hungry...if you can stop yourself and dont eat" than you usually do it helps you a lot.
boxing is one of the hardest sports the world

Ya..boxing doesn't burn fat as much as the workouts u do to get into shape for boxing so if u wanna box ur gonna have to work out anyway......:(
