My xbox 360 seems to have the ability to switch to 1080p so that i might be able to watch a 1080p movie but my projector will only support up to a 1080/60i and a 1080/24PsF. Any ideas?

when i try to watch 1080p movie, my xbox 360, in the 1080i setting, will not activate the movie and my projector (sony cineza vpl/hs60) prompts "frequency is out of range" when i try to switch my xbox 360 to 1080p. My projector is able to accept a 1080i and 1080/24psf among many but not a 1080p signal. Is there any way i can watch a 1080p DVD?

You cant. To convert from progressive to interlaced the video has to be re-rendered, which can not be done on the fly, it has to be done on a computer.

There are no converter boxes.

It should still work though, edges will just look like a comb on scenes with lots of motion.... which is not pretty, but it's something...

There is no reason that you can't use the 1080i setting from your x-box. Most HDTVs made before last year cannot accept 1080p, and even now, only the high-end ones do. I suspect there is something wrong in the x-box; perhaps you are not setting it right. You should be setting the output at 1080/60i. Very few TVs accept 24p at all (it is starting to happen).

If you have trouble, contact product support for x-box.

You can connect using component cables - it will only pass 1080i - not 1080p.
Are you sure Xbox does not have a 1080i output setting?

Your projector should be able to downconvert the signal to it's native resolution.
