Finding religion is as easy as reading a book, I think it's faith that can be hard to find

Well, first I would like to praise you for looking for religion. I really do hope that you find what you're looking for. First, I think that you should pray. Pour out your heart to God, and tell him that you want to find him. Be completely honest and don't be intimidated or anything. Next, you can try looking online or doing research on various religions. Also, you can read the Bible for free online, and by finding a Bible that you can understand, you can find the religion. Most importantly, pray to God and ask for his guidance. I know that I've mentioned this before, but it's so important. I hope that you find what you're looking for.

riot: What you really want is SPIRITUALITY - not "religion". Religion is a ritualistic approach to God by performing a bunch of "good" do's or don'ts (called, "legalism") ! What spirituality does for you is allows you to have a relationship personally, with God, the Father, through Jesus Christ. Spirituality changes you on the inside and your inner thoughts change too. You are accepted by Jesus simply, because He made it possible for you and I by His death on the cross ... because He loves the human creation. Jesus supplies us with GRACE - that is, undeserved forgiveness for living our lives as rotters [sinners] in the past. This grace is a free gift available to anyone desiring it. All you have to do is go to Jesus in prayer and ask Him for His grace and tell Him that you want a relationship with Him. You will then, begin to sense that there is more to life than just living and dying. You will begin to experience the desire to change and make this world a better place to live for everyone. Life will have plenty of purpose and meaning ... and that empty void you have will no longer be urging you to fill it. In stead of being self-centered, you will become God-centered - happy and fulfilled. Christianity will be who you now ARE - not what you do in life. And the future ... it will be a real mind-blower ... believe me - I can assure you !!! All the very BEST to you !!!

Well, it really all depends on what sort of religion you want to "find".

I am a Christian and if you want to find Christianity just look for a Bible and read one of the 4 gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) or any other part of it

If that doesn't work for you then there are many other forms of religion out there. I can personally say I love Christianity and everything, but thats up to you. Ask people (Friends, family, random people coming out of churches maybe *shrug*)

Start going to different churches until you feel you've found the one for you. Through the 'messages' and 'worship' you'll find what you need. Along the way, you'll find new friends who feel the way you do too. And always go to church only for yourself...don't go or not go because this person goes here or there or did this or that. There will always be someone negative at a church you go to or that just rubs you the wrong way. Don't let that get you down. Good luck and God bless! (And don't 'label it' as a religion either. Don't pay attention to the 'labels' people give you. Hopefully you're going to go to better yourself and to bring you closer to God.)

Who says you are insane? Your faith is what you want it to be. You could be a Jedi if you want to and if that is what makes you happy at the end of the day. Don't conform. I am atheist and I am happy with it. All the religions have flaws to them in many ways so just go with what you feel is right. Whether that is being part of a religion or not.

who says you need religion to find sanity? but if that's what you want to try and do...pick a religion and start going to the church/synagogue/mosque whatever on a regular basis and when one of these places feels like the right place to be, keep going. follow along with the services. read about it on your own. if you are the type to join a group, you know a church will have several! eventually, even if you aren't feeling it at first, if you stick with it you will probably start to enjoy it and get something out of it.

Find a quiet place to meditate. Go to that quiet place often to meditate, and sincerely seek the truth.

Ask questions that a child would ask like:

Who made the world?

Who is God?

What is man?

Why did God make me?

What must I do to save my soul?

You have to be willing to follow the truth wherever the truth leads you. When you find the truth, surrender yourself to the truth. And once you know the truth, the truth will set you free.

I'm a Muslim American and people just don't understand Islam. Please, try it out as new religion and see how it changes your life dramatically-In a good way. You'll feel better about yourself and others around you. Read about Islam and what it offers. It asks nothing but your time and focus. Do research and find a website you can TRUST. Or a book you can TRUST. May God Bless You.
