I do not like the idea of a guest worker program because this same idea has been tried in European nations like Germany. In Germany, people would come to be workers and not obtain citizenship, but remain there for decades. If people are going to be here for decades, they need a path to becoming citizens not this three year then you leave stuff. Does anyone expect all these guest workers to leave? Have workers, but put them on a track to citizenship.

I will have too agree with you, but I also wonder if there is anything out there that does not line the pockets of the big corporations. I think big business has America, and its citizens, in a death grip.
The only good that I see in the quest worker program is that perhaps some people will be able to get work here, but then that puts an American job out of reach for it citizens.

The better question is why are so many here concerned about corporations earning money? You do realize that without the big, evil corporations, you wouldn't be able to post here at Yahoo don't you, Yahoo itself being a big, evil corporation? Without the big, evil corporations, you wouldn't even have a computer, or be able to access the internet in the first place.

Guest worker programs have their place, but not the recently debated illegal immigrant guest worker program, otherwise known as shamnesty.

Nope. I see little good in any halfway measures.

Either they're legal or they aren't. If they are, fine, give them SSN#s and get on with it. If they aren't, enforce the law, and that includes the corporate folks who want them to remain less than legal so they remain cheap labor. All this does is make it legal to hire illegal workers. It protects employers and leaves the workers unprotected.

Humanitarian my a**....

You see it exactly right, plus it will still over tax the tax payers. Guest workers are a joke that still drains the system. Once here they never leave.

Social Security and Medicare are in shambles. If they work, a portion gets taken out to go to those programs. I have no problem with that, seeing as how they will never see any of that money they have paid in. It's a full profit. It seems like a pretty simple idea to me.

No I don't see any good in it. And when Bush talks about the U.S economy doing well - it is those same big corporations that he is speaking of.

there is particularly numerous customer worker classes that the united stateshas had for somewhat it sluggish. possibly they could have utilized for them before crossing illegally. Sneaking in yet another set of regulations for "professional-reform" to as quickly as returned appease the illegals right here, and for our state and government reps who pander for votes, is as incorrect because it became, and is for the illegals being right here. whether they did do yet another reform, they had sneak in different language that would nonetheless enable it to take place. they are going to in no way close off all loop holes to any reform they grant up. a number of you professionals get accused of, or instructed issues lots worse than those you stated. To which i think of is uncalled for. As for us antis' - We hate being referred to as racists whilst being unlawful from any country isn't a race. neither is it a race subject. Illegals are available in lots of races, as nicely as many diverse international places. it truly is appropriate to the guidelines wherein all human beings human beings are expected to stick to, and cling to. And maximum human beings human beings do. whilst people who got here via visa's (then enable them to lapse) and people who got here illegally do no longer think of that they could or could stick to or adhere to any rules interior of this country that's no longer theirs. hence, American rules is what this subject is all approximately, and constantly has been approximately in spite of what i'm being instructed.
