You should get a card with a low credit limit like $300-$500 to start off with. That way it will be hard to run the bill up too high & go into debt. My 1st credit card only had a $300 limit so it would have been very hard for me to go into debt with such a low credit limit. Also look for low interest rates & remember NEVER charge anything you can afford to pay back!!!

Find a card with a low annual fee unless you plan on using it a lot!
Earning points is great if the benifits outweigh the cost to you.
Also, read the fine print. Often low introductory rates rise after a few months.
Whatever you do, don't get pressured into one, find what will suit you best.
I found the website below, seems to have a lot you can apply for online.

I would suggest stick with your debit card for most of your purchases, but if you are simply doing it to build your credit scores, I would recommend to get a credit card with a low limit and a low interest rate. Sometimes the institution that you bank with will have a good card to offer to you. But please avoid getting trapped in huge credit card debt as 85% of people typically do. It has ruined most of Americans credit and keeps people from having the lives they could have without that weight... Sorry for the soapbox...Good luck...
