i'm not dissing cycling but all I hear is failed drug tests and doped up cyclists. i used to take interest but have been put off by this bad press

You can forget it if you like, but I am a cycling fan AND a cyclist, and since I can't alter the outcome of the race or the tactics made by the riders, I'm just going to enjoy it.
Besides, Lance Armstrong gave the Tour GOOD press, and nobody paid much attention to cycling. But as soon as there's BAD press, everyone is all about how crappy the sport is.
Just because all you hear is bad news doesn't mean cycling is all wrong now.

YES.
This is a fantastic sport with a long wonderful history. Doping has most definetly hurt it recently but if this rough spot means that the sport will be cleaned up and back to its old roots of endurance, honor and passion then I will ride it out. Baseball went through this. I for one am definetly paying some mind to The Tour. That insane comeback from Robbie McEwen today was exactly what makes this race great. Watch Vinokourov in the weeks to come, mark my words...

Good question...now, how about: Baseball, American Football, Track & Field, Football (soccer), weight lifting, etc.....fact: drug controls in cycling are among the strictest in sport. The Tour de France.....name another event which tests ALL competitors B4 they start the event? Sigh...if you're a fan of cycling, you're a fan of cycling. If not, you're not. I really don't care about other sports, but "Yes"' I do think there are issues and that things need to be addressed - just as they should in all sports. Pay attention to the TDF, Yes. It's the top event in the Sport.
