when i say fishy i mean he seems like a feel good preacher. he tells you what you want to hear.. and if you look at his sight..it seems like this ministry is about money and feeling good

It's so unnerving how he never stops smiling. There's something just strange about his appearance and manners. I think he just comes off as a bit fake.
Not to say he is, I've watched him and read some of his stuff. He's kind of a "feel good" preacher. He doesn't really go too deep into anything that might potentially challenge or offend people. I think he offers some good advice, but I wouldn't attend his church on a regular basis, it just seems like he only talks about easy, happy stuff.

I live in Houston, and I have the same feeling about him as you do. Larry King once asked him a question that went something like this...
King: Do only Christians Go to Heaven?
JO: Did not answer yes, he gave some fluffy feel good answer.
I heard him say things like, "The Lord works in Mysterious ways" or , The Lord helps those who help themselves.
None of which is in the Bible,

I do not know about fishy but I did catch him this morning.
He is more of a motivational speaker than a preacher. He wants everyone to be happy and live in joy all of the time. He even throws in a few scripture verses to sound plausible.

I agree he is a "feel good" preacher.
Paul warned us about preachers like him:
2 Timothy 4:3
For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.

Seen Joel Osteen. Seems prophetic, blessed, annointed.

Let the Holy Spirit teach you God's ways. You'll get better instruction and save a bundle.

He is a pretty good guy I guess.
A little too slick and polished for my liking but his message is usually good. God and family. I don't think he is a con artist
He certainly is no Bishop Jakes who, in my opinion, is the best there is

NAH! DON'T DISS MY BUDDY LIKE THAT!i like his preaching, because he doesnt rush, and he doent yell either. he also makes sense and he's funny sometimes. how often do you watch his shows, because they aren't all about money and feeling good......most of the time, they are about getting closer to God.
