hispanics have made a recent strive for achievement and success?
i saw an article that showed that more and more positions such as doctors and lawyers are being filled by hispanics
even i am an example of this. read my profile to see what path i am headed down:
http://answers.yahoo.com/my/my;_ylt=AmXDSeetlbEak6LftsRejhPa7BR.
my point is, that isn't it great that hispanics are breaking out of this stereotype that has had a hold on us for so long?
here is just one example of how hispanics are starting to play "key roles" in society:

Anyone who wants to be successful and will work hard to do it will more than likely get it. Starting it off with breaking the law is of course teh wrong way and will more than likely lead to misery, but yea doing it the right way if you are a benefit to society and yourself then good for you.
Gonzales give Sergio a break, leave him alone, he is one who obviously is trying to do things the right way and isnt a ranting and raving looney and some of us can appreciate that.
lol like metro said below,.. when you click on the link of what path I am headed down it pulls up my profile too... you want my job do ya Sergio hehe.

Sergio, you are 16yrs old and show a maturity and determination that will not only inspire Hispanics but all of young America who have doubts about what they can achieve in life.
You’re going places and will surely make your parents proud, good for you, Sergio.

Individual self-improvement and achievement is always a good thing. It's more than that. It is what has transformed undeveloped nations into modern, economic powers.
It's here, though, that I should note: This is not an immigration question. Race and citizenship have never been one-and-the-same in this country, even if some thought they were.

I think it's great that they are stepping up and doing great things with their lives. Alot more would step up I think, but are afraid of the ridicule that they would receive from people. It doesn't matter a persons origin as long as they are a good person. Keep up the good job Sergio and keep posting all the good that you can find about Hispanics. They deserve the respect as any other person should deserve.

Yeah but unfortunately most ran from their homeland with their tails between their legs like a scared poodle, and burdened the US with their sobstories. Better get prepared for some drastic new measures though when W is not the president anymore. Anyways to those who did it all legally, congratulations. To the majority who are here illegally, you'll see come Jan. of next year....

I saw a article that stated that Hispanic need to step up to the plate and finish high school and then they may fill positions of those you spoke of. .Without the doubt the single most important any person or group can do it complete their education. Their are few in this country that would begrudge anyone from getting a higher degree, but some of us would like to see immigration be legal

It's great when any culture, group--or even any single person--strives for achievement and success.

Sergio--
Ignore some of these folks. You are 16 ... and a typical American teenager. you want approval, you want to be liked, and you want everyone to get along. Candidly, I think the rest of us are jaded and cynical.
You are a great kid. And yes I too am thrilled to see progress on ALL fronts for your latino brothers and sisters.
For about the 1000th time--as long as we aren't talking illegal entry into the US, all are welcome.
SOme of us are already on your side; others, you will never be able to convince by posting on YA.
