I have looked into this myself and I find NO true FACTS to back this claim.
As for as religious leaders, most have studied the times and traditions so, I would think they think it is bunk too!
What I think is that this Davinci Code has caused people to wonder but, the learned people, will say that in no way could these things be the case! So, I have to go with my own knowledge, research and what most major theologians think...in no way is this factual!

There are things that are *suggestive*.
It has been theorized that DaVinci appears in the painting, at the end of the table at the right, along with another figure meant to represent Socrates. This was to symbolize his embracing of philosophical thought and intellect, rather than blind obedience to the church. It was meant to be a dig at the religious order for whom he was working -- he did not like them and was not wild about working on the painting.
As far as theorizing about Mary Magdalene, the articles I have read and the programs I have watched seem to indicate that it is likely she was married to either Jesus or one of the disciples, as it would have been absolutely unacceptable for her to have traveled with them were she *not*. It has also been put forth that an unmarried man in his 30s would have been extremely unusual as well, and that any biography written about Jesus anywhere near the time of his life would have made note of the fact as being out of the ordinary. But of course it is all conjecture and we will probably never know.
It does not matter either way, anyway. Those who wish to believe as they always have will continue to do so. Those who never did will be unaffected. Frankly, facts have very little to do with religion.

Most religious leaders don't take "The Da Vinci Code" seriously. Some find it offensive.
Yes it does matter if Jesus was married or not. WE are the Bride of Christ, not Mary Magdalene. Christ being married WAS NOT and IS NOT part of God's plan for our salvation.
There isn't a whole lot of truth to "The Da Vinci Code," by the way.

no, they are based on mystical fake gospels of Jesus about 200 yrs after he died. Its all hogwash. Even their sources dont prove He was married. Its fiction. nothing suggests He was married in the bible. Religious leaders are showing evidence that proves it is fiction. There are no questions unless you believe in those lies. It is silly, really.
