Is that a felony, misdemeaner, infraction or just a slap on the wrist and don't do it again?

I use to wait tables and ever now and then somebody would do a Dine N Dash. This adds up thous because the meal was about 40 bucks. Thus it cuts into the waiters pocket, being that he has to tip out at night as well. 3 percent is a big chunck of change plus tiping the bus boy/girl. You figure every 100 buck is 3 bucks that the waiter has to tip out, plus you have bus boy/girl, bar fees and food runner to think about. Few time they did get caught, well the police handled that.

Beer-Run, guy at the counter pulls out his shoot gun and blast you on the way out. Great for the local news.

No, I've not done either a beer run, or 'dine-n-dash'.

Dine-n-dash as you call it is really mean. Often times the waiter gets blamed, and in some places they can even be held accountable for your crime. These are poor people who are working hard for the small amount of money they earn.

Beer runs are dangerous. Especially in states that have concealed carry permits.

Beer runs can certainly be felonies, but dine-n-dash is probably a misdemeanor. Are you willing to potentially lose a job you interviewed for because you have a beer-run or dine-n-dash on your record?

Do you think you can pass a lie detector test if you ever have to take one for a job doing sensitive work?

It isn't worth the risk.

Never committed one.

Depends on the state you did it in, how much it was for, and what it was for.

It is all stealing. I hope that fine (which more than likely will be much greater than the bill itself) is well worth what you ditched on.

Never.
Eating out is a luxury.
If I can't afford to eat out, I eat in.
Even if eating in means another PBJ.
