Properly that day is Saturday. For most Xtians its Sunday.
But what will happen if I take no regard for it?
Nothing, absolutely nothing.

Thats one of the 10 commandents, & God does nothing everytime I or anyone disobeys it.

Exodus 31:12-17:
And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying: 'Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying: Verily ye shall keep My sabbaths, for it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, that ye may know that I am the LORD who sanctify you. ........ Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant. It is a sign between Me and the children of Israel for ever; for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day He ceased from work and rested.'

Notice how G0d tells the children of Israel (but not the gentiles) that it is a sign specifically between me and you alone. Notice that G0d says that the children of israel shall keep the sabbath, and that it is a sign between G0d and the children of Israel forever.

Also- notice Genesis 8:22. Here, G0d is speaking to Noah after the flood. Noah, is of course, not jewish. And G0d tells him "While the earth remaineth: seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night - they shall not cease.' Cease is the same word as sabbath. On sabbath one ceases from his activity. And the "they" in the scripture is intentionally ambiguous. For while the simple meaning is that "they" refers to the natural pehonemena which the verse discusses, it can also be seen as a reference to the humanity which will descend from Noah. Thus, G0d would be telling Noah that irrespective of the seasons and times, his descendants (who were not yet jewish) are not to cease- are not to engage in keeping the sabbath.

So, according to scripture, according to G0d, Jews are to keep the sabbath, and nonjews are not. So, assuming you are not jewish (as your tone of your question perhaps indicates)- then if you do not keep the sabbath- you are doing the right thing. The sabbath is reserved for a special sign/covenant between G0d and teh Jews alone. Nonjews don't have a part in the sabbath, and are not to keep it. Keep up the good work of not keeping the sabbath. Leave the sabbbath to G0d and the jews.

:)

Hello!

Good question. You are always free to choose. God has granted you free will and, as somebody said, God may not struck you down for not keeping the Sabbath. However, there are going to be consequences.

Sin always brings consequences; we always pay the consequences for what we do --either good or bad. The Sabbath is one of the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:8-11) --God's Law. Sin is the transgression of the Law (1 John 3:4), so breaking the Sabbath is sin, and the penalty for sin is death (Romans 6:23).

"For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. 11 For He who said, “Do not commit adultery,”[b] also said, “Do not murder.”[c]Now if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law. 12 So speak and so do as those who will be judged by the law of liberty." (James 2:10-12; NKJV)

There are many people who don't know about the Sabbath truth yet, and they are good Christians who love the Lord. Even if they would never get to know about the Sabbath, but they loved the Lord and gave up their lives to Him trusting in His grace, and are faithful in what they know, God consideres them righteous. Knowing God is eternal life (John 17:3). God will judge us on what we knew. There are going to be a lot of people in Heaven who kept other day instead of the seventh-day Sabbath. God forgives our ignorance.

But when we know the truth, and even so we decide not to follow it, then we are guilty before God. Of course, we can still choose to repent and follow God's will, and be forgiven.

"God does nothing everytime I or anyone disobeys it". Sometimes it might seem that God doesn't make justice. Sometimes it looks like the wicked succeed while the righteous suffer. Many Bible writers wondered the same thing. But they trusted in the Lord's justice. Someday, God will make justice --everyone will receive "according to his work" (Revelation 22:12).

" 'And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work." (Revelation 22:12; NKJV).

And the Bible teaches that the wicked will recieve what their deeds deserve, it may happen even on this earth. Finally, the righteous live better (read Proverbs 11, for example).

Be patient, God will get to you in His own sweet time.

Edit: To all, the Noahide Laws are a figment of Jewish imagination. The Bible clearly defines who the Elect are in Revelations: Re 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Re 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
Re 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city

There is absolutely no Biblical proof of any special Law for Noah.

Nothing will happen to you. The 10 commandments plus 603 more were intended for the Jews. The rest of humanity needs to follow the seven commandments given to Noah, and keeping the Sabbath holy is not included in these.

God won't strike you down with lightning but if you don't honor the Sabbath you drift away from God. First you don't honor the Sabbath, then it's something else, until you break the 9th, 10th, and 4th commandments. You could go to hell by a chain of events that could have been avoided.

Do not mistake God's patience with us with an idea that He doesn't care if you break His laws.

Luke 12
45But suppose the servant says to himself, 'My master is taking a long time in coming,' and he then begins to beat the menservants and maidservants and to eat and drink and get drunk. 46The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the unbelievers.
47"That servant who knows his master's will and does not get ready or does not do what his master wants will be beaten with many blows. 48But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.

God Bless you for your question...

God really doesn't care, I don't think, what day in particular that you take for the Sabbath. He has given us 6 days to work, and one to rest. On our day of rest, we are to fellowship with each other and with God. The purpose of the Sabbath is to remember and honor God, and to take a break from work.

I know lots of people who break many of the Ten Commandments, and they are not immediately strcuk down...and thank the Lord for His mercy, for I am one of them. Sometimes He disciplines us in ways that we recognize right off the bat as God's handiwork, other times His discipline is hidden from us, but it is there...Sometimes He delays His justice...but fear not, it is coming.

Ah! not so!

God stores up wrath for the children of disobedience.

Repent now, because that Wrath can only be turned away by trusting in the atonement of Christ.

You can't see all the electrons you are inconveniencing everytime you post to Y!A, either but that doesn't mean that you aren't inconveniencing them. They are there.

So, also, is the storehouse of wrath you are building by rebellion to the creator.

God is not like a school teacher who strikes you with a ruler when you disobey. The choice is always yours. For those who have a personal relationship with our creator, every day is the sabbath.

Nothing, absolutely nothing. We are not Jewish and were never under Jewish law. We are Christians of the new testament and have received the Holy Spirit. We have a new heart and live by the spirit and not by the letter. "the letter kills, but the spirit gives life". It is so plain I am always amazed that some Christians still think we are under the Jewish law. If you want to live under the law, be sure to keep all of them perfectly or you are condemned.
