Alot of people grind there teeth especially in their sleep. The only thing you can do is wait and see if he will grow out of it. He really needs a mouth guard or else he is going to wear through the enamel on his teeth also he can get other things from grinding that affects his jaws, like TMJ and pain when moving his jaw.

It is very normal for kids to grind their teeth. Often times when kids come in for an exam, they have ground their front teeth down to near the gumline. They will outgrow it eventually. It typically isn't something that I worry about even when parents say they can hear the grinding all the way across the house.

My son did that when he was 3 years old and we ask a doctor on check-up time.. he was like he might have a sort of disease or blah-blah.... he didn't know **** my mom said that he might have a tape worm and he did. The tape worms cling on and eat while you sleep which causes him to grind his teeth from it clinging on his intestine.

My son got some medicine and it was done in 2 days. Trust me nothing to worry about.

My grandma, aunt, uncle, cousins, and I all grind our teeth. We don't have any problems. So there's not really much to worry about unless he has really weak teeth [and he doesn't have his adult teeth yet, so it doesn't matter THAT much]. Just let it run its course, hopefully he'll stop.

You need to take him to the dentist and talk to the dentist about this.
