no, store garlic cloves on your counter uncovered. They will last that way for a week or two depending on how fresh they are. Discard them when they start growing green sprouts out of the bottom.

Yes you can. I normally buy a bunch peel them and minced them. After that just add a drop or two of oil in it..Put it in the fridge..It last for months.

Yes you can. My boyfriend's grandma always used to do that. They don't stay white though, they turn a light green.
