I'm not mormon but I have noticed that the bashing questions are pretty often and far feched
especaily there poligomy tradition ,witch everyone in the bible practiced
why are they bashed so much by the rest of the christians

It so happens that Mormon bashing is part of the Baptist religion.
God told them to bash Mormons, and now everyone is doing it; except maybe the Catholics, though I could be mistaken on that.
The Baptists even have Mormon bashing CDs and they hand them out at the mall.

Well, I can tell you that the R&P section as well as other categories here have a close knit family. So, think of it as a family feud! You're bound to tick some people off if you don't agree with them. True opinions are like butt holes everyone has one! It has more to do with the type of person you are. I like to go with the flow so, I agree to disagree and try and have a civil disagreement on the topic at hand. Other's don't feel that way. People are passionate about their music as well as their causes. Some take opinions to heart and take it personally while others appreciate another point of view. The haters and bashers as you like to point out are throughout y/a not just one category. WE all can't agree all the time. That would be boring. A healthy disagreement on topics is good. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! LMAO

Most of these people have no idea what they are talking about. They are just following the trend. They don't know anything for themselves. Why are people so threatened by Mormons? I have no idea. I think it's just that these people don't know what they really believe, so all they can do is bash other poeple. It's a pretty lame life, but that's all they have. Others think they are saving Mormons, but how? If Mormons think they have it totally right, but all other religions are based on, "We're doing the best with what we have." Why would a Mormon be tempted by that? If you really want to save mormons, leave them alone. You can't argue with them because they believe that have revelation from God that their church is true. No lame yahoo answers poster can trump that.

People hate a lot of religions here and others hate the non religious here as well.
Pride feeds them.
Mormons are indeed bashed -- I'm not sure who gets bashed the most here, but I think we can agree that Bashing is nasty business and those who bash are not asking questions -- they are making statements -- bashers make hate-filled statements.
Wherein I have a vested interest in not having Mormons bashed -- I would like to see all the bashing go away

The Mormons are the most persecuted Christian group in the U.S.; in fact, they were ambushed and slaughtered in Missouri, then driven from Illinois to Utah.
But on R&S, I also notice a lot of denigrading questions on Scientology.
The greatest assaults or on Islamists--and with good reason. The love-talk from those who follow a book that says to lift your head and evangelize the world tells me they are really terrorists trying to snow-job us as they overthrow the world for Allah.

Mormons are like the inbred younger cousin in the Christian family. It is like holding a mirror up to the rest of Christians that shows them a little of the truth about their religion... the fact that a person can make up an incredible story and have large groups of people not only believe it, but shape their lives around it.

The same reason people bash the Muslims, Catholics, Buddhists, Atheists and Christians- ignorance and an inability to see a belief system other than their own as worthy of contemplation and respect. What really bothers me is when someone acts like they are asking a legitimate question and you answer it truthfully and they choose the answer because all Mormons/ Catholics/ etc. are wrong.

Mormons, or Latter Day Saints, are considered a cult by most Christian denominations. They believe the Bible is the Word of God, but they also believe that their Book of Mormon is also the word of God. True Christians believe that the Bible is the only inspired word of God, and do not want other people to become confused. Mormons also put themselves out there by often going door to door or hanging out at public places while yelling things like, "Repent, you're going to Hell, etc." Now not all Mormons are like this, but there are several where I live that do do this (which leads ppl to "bash" them)

It could be because of that Mormon guy who's running for president. It's putting Mormonism in the news again and as per usual, the nation goes nuts because nobody likes us.

Atheists rarely distinguish between the types.
