Whiskers tell a cat what kind of places they can comfortably fit into. Like if a cat tries to go into a hole (outside) and the whiskers bend they wont go in. I have cut my cats whiskers off (and many other people have that I know) when I was younger (5 yrs or so) and the cat was fine w/out them (she was an indoor cat I might add). But to keep themselves from being hurt or stuck somewhere they def. need them.

Cats use their whiskers to kind of feel their way around in the dark. It's probably not a good idea to trim them at all, but I would assume they would grow back.

The whiskers tells the cat if he/she can fit into an area. If you trimmed the whiskers shorter, the cat will think he/she can fit into a smaller area and get stuck.

It's bad to trim a cat's whiskers. They are important for a cat to have. They use them to sense things, or feel things I believe. Do a google search to see.

The whiskers help the cat balance and they also act as "feelers". It is not a good idea to trim them.

cats whiskers provide balance. When my brother was little, he cut our cats whiskers off. The poor cat was always falling over till they grew back.
